Let me preface this by saying I'm a Tech sports fan. And let me follow that up by saying I will be fading this Georgia Tech team in this spot here tonight.
Georgia Tech is coming off losses to Mercer and Fordham. They have 2 borderline double-digit scorers in udofia and rice jr. I like both of these players, but there is no passion in their game this year. Glen Rice Jr is coming off a 0-point performance against Fordham. That is not how you step up as your team's leading scorer after a loss to Mercer. This team has no down low presence (they're facing a great front court in bama') and they often look disjointed on the court while maintaining an ACC worst -3 turnover margin per game. Not a good match-up facing one of the better defensive teams in the SEC, if not the country. I feel bad for Jason Morris, as he always looks like the only Tech player who cares.
I think this is a bad match-up for Tech, and a terrible spot for them as well. This game will be at Phillips Arena, where I recently saw them get spanked by the Northwestern Wildcats. The arena was mostly empty and the student section was depressingly quiet (and sober). Luckily I wasn't. Couple this with the fact that it's cold as balls today, nobody wants to leave their house (half joking point), and most Tech students are still on vacation, and this home court doesn't factor in for me at all.
I haven't even sold Alabama yet for you, and honestly I don't believe I have to. But I do believe this Bama team is a solid team, and I've seen them outplay bad, disorganized teams a few times this season. This should be a nice easy road "test" (quiz) for them before they start SEC play. Also, Jamychal Green one of their best players is back tonight after missing 2 games (as confirmed by his Twitter, he will play tonight).
Take the points fellas, I think we're looking at a pretty relaxed winner. best of luck.
