St Johns (6-5) has shown me absolutely nothing this year. Providence has an outstanding 11-2 record this year, other than that I know nada about them. Anyone been following this providence team? What can you tell us about them.......

Ed Cooley is a tremendous head coach, took a nothing Fairfield program, made them MAAC contenders.
Extremely defensive minded, will make Providence a tourney team in no time flat.

Having said this, both teams have played garbage schedules so far, I don't trust the Johnnies in any spot, Sagarin has this game Providence -2.

I have been reading this forum for awhile, and since I am a long time SJU fan, here are my thoughts on the squad FWIW:

SJU has been extremely inconsistent this year, having to come back from late game deficits against some crummy teams, and getting absolutely blown out by Kentucky, but they did give miss st a run, but lost it on Nurideen Lindsay free throws. Speaking of which, Nurideen has decided to transfer, but Amir Garrett (another top 100 recruit) has been declared eligible and this will be his second game with the team, and first with substantial practice time with his new teammates. This team has struggled to create anything in a half court offense and is still learning the defense. Also, coach Steve Lavin is still recovering from surgery and will probably be out again tonight.

All you need to know is even if St. Johns can keep it close they are a lock to miss every free throw they shoot down the stretch. That factor alone is worth a St. Johns auto fade anytime it's a small line.

St. Johns was already very thin prior to Lindsey leaving. Lindsey did a lot for them.

The line for this game is up to Providence +1.5 most places.

Tells me that there is way too much $ on Providence for the books' liking and they want more suckers to take St John's. So many casual better will just pick the favorite and hope for the best. Like Providence and if anyone is gonna get blown out it will be St. Johns not Providence.

1) I graduated from St. John's
2) I could tell you stories about St. John's games in the 80's and 90's that would make your hair stand up.
3) Remember that game when there were 13 points in the final 00:51 (I think it was against 'Nova) to sink a sure fire winning under bet?

I know St. John's. I loved Louie, but he had to be in on some of the shit I saw

I am very happy with my St. John's ML play (+105), especially since they are now -2. These are two even teams, don't let Providence record fool you. Friars never should have been favored on the road.

I learned my lesson a long time ago, I will not wager a game that involves St. John's.
I don't care what kind of +EV there is.

I run, don't walk from wagering a game involving them.
You fade the Johnnies when you should fade them, they win.
You tail them against a Fordham or Hofstra, they tank.
