What was your ALL TIME WORST beat???
with all these MIRACLE last second BUZZER beaters in college hoops this year, i was just wondering what everyones worst ALL TIME beat was? it feels as though if there is a 3 point buzzer beater you can bet your assss that i had the other team!!! case in point nc state bonnies last night!! game had no business finishing in regulation but a miracle buzzer beater screwed me!! then you had idaho wright state last night another miracle 3 ball to force the game into ot!! thankfully wright state covered in ot or i wouldve smashed my tv..... anyway my all time worst beat just came recently as i had ac milan a couple weeks ago -103, they were up 2-0 and let up 2 goals in injury time!!!! worst bad beat i ever had! what was yours?

I have a buddy who lost a bet on a meaningless end of the game half court shot. The team that took the shot was up big already.

oh man!!! im at the point where i just have to laugh now!!! unlv up 10 with a min to go end up giving the lead up and gets the game sent into ot, only to cover in 2 ots... yes i had the other team, and although i had no business covering that game, it was a wild roller coaster ride with me as usual coming up on the losing end.. i wouldnt mind if they balanced out for me, but they just dont!!

Too many beats to even remember but the one that always stands out to me. Many, many yrs ago Oklahoma was playing Providence & I had Providence +8.5. Providence was UP 9 w/ under a minute to go. Oklahoma hit a 3 to cut it to 6. Somehow Oklahoma got the ball back hit another 3 to cut it to 3. Oklahoma then managed to get the ball back yet again & hit a 3 @ the buzzer to send it into OT. And as predictable as the sun rising Oklahoma managed to find away to win the game by 9 & hang a ridiculous .5 loser on Providence backers

Let's see......UP 9 getting 8.5 with under 1:00 to play & still find a way not to cover

best win and beat in 2 consecutive days!!! best win I was playing poker at foxwoods and lost 175 so instead of cashing in the $25 chip I was goofing with my friends and said I was going to double up on baccarat till I saw a $1000 chip. so I hit 25 50 100 200 400 800.....when it got to 800 I pulled it all back and put up 1000. the banker came out with $1000 up 27 times in a row! I left with around 30k!

so the next day I went back and took a shot at 300-600 7 card stud.said screw it....it was like free money! all from a $25 chip. well I did alot of folding then get rolled 8s....2 8s down one 8 up.......guy has 7 door card. he was raising I was just calling trying to suck him in for 5th street. well next card I get a 5. he hits his door card 7....now I am happy. I am pretty sure he has 777. I look and just called and act pissed that he thinks I think he hit 3 7s when I have him beat with 3 8s. next card I hit another 5 I am full 88855.....he has 3 7s or 7s full dont matter I have him beat he bets into my 558 showing he has 779 showing. I finally make a raise. to him it looks like I have 3 5s......not 3 8s.....so he raises his 3 7s! I raise back he raises back I raise back 600 raise 1200 raise 1800 raise 2400 raise 3000. insane! I know I have him beat!!! anyway he didnt hit anything that could have helped his hand my 8s full were made from 5th street. we reraised each other like 10 more times on 6th street and the river......I was sweating even th ough I knew I had him beat I was so nervouos I was almost sick!! almost 40k in the pot! finally he called and flipped over 3 As in his hand AAA77.....the last A he hit on the river after reraising me with AA77 like 20 times and me hitting a pair on board so he had to know I had at least trips.....I was totally sick lost almost all I won the night before to a river case A.

                  sports bad beats happen everyday!

The 2 that stand out to me are the Memphis/Gtown game in 2008, I had Memphis +6.5 straight for $500 and as the last leg of a parlay for over 8k. Memphis is winning the whole game but somehow Gtown comes back and ties it and on to ot we go. Gtown ends up pulling away in the final 20 seconds and they are up 6 with like 2 seconds to go and the guard for Gtown just launches the ball up in the air (not even a shot attempt) and it goes in. Gtown wins by 9 and I am screwed. It sucked but I hit every single game I played that day besides that game and won over 2k but it would of been nice to hit for 10k.

Colts-2.5 2k at Titans last year, It was my biggest play of the season, I live here in Nashville and just knew these 2 teams were going in opposite directions. Indy jumps out 21-0 and looks like smooth sailing until the 4th when the Colts decide to only kick fg's and play prevent defense. The game came down to 1 minute left and the Colts up 9, Titans drive all the way down to the goalline and on 4th and goal with 2 seconds to go Kerry Collins throws a meaningless TD and the Titans lose by 2. Jeff Fisher should of kicked the fg on the previous 4th down from the 20 because he still needed 2 scores but chose not to. That one hurt to give away my whole year of NFL profits on one game.

Had a 4 team teaser Cbb byu being the last leg they had to win by 8. Jimmy Ferdette gets fouled with 8 secs left. With byu up 10! He was 88% ft shooter that year missed both. Other team shoots a three pointer from mid court at buzzer. Would have paid out like 5k. I quit betting for 6 months after that game I was so pissed

Ive had countless brutal beats in poker, NONE compare to this one. At the time I was a complete degenerate... had like 2k in my bank account but was playing 5k max table.

Was playing 5/10 NLHE heads up vs this guy IrishCurve on pokerroom.com. After an hr play, im up 14k. Stacks at like 23k, hes at 13k. I get dealt KK. Buy some act of god, we get it ALL IN PREFLOP! $26,000+ POT!! Guy has AK and spikes an Ace. Will never forget that asshole....his name was IrishCurve. if you see him kick him in the shin for me.

One that is fresh in my mind, had MLB playoff game Det/Tex under 9.5. Game goes to friggin extra innings tied 3-3 and Nelson Cruz hits a walk off grand slam to win 7-3. That was a nice kick in the nuts.

so many good and bad in this sport it really hard to remember..only one that has stuck with me over the years and the details are getting fuzzy but i do remember it was truly the one gm i ever bet and walked away thinking they were shaving points..2 or 3 years ago ucla at usc (wanna say 09), forget the spread but i was on usc and they were covering by a pretty wide margin with under a minute to go when all hell broke out, fouling 3 point shooters on several occasions with a big lead, turning over the inbound on a few occasions, of coarse missed free throws, the very end was horrific but details are escaping me but i think usc was still covering by a few with 6 or 7 seconds left and in-bounding the ball, of coarse they turn it over and ref calls a unexplainable foul on a last second 3 from the corner, i tried to go Google it but couldnt find it, it was horrible!! of coarse that was one of the season usc was on probation and not going to the post season, will never believe this gm wasnt fixed and im not much of a conspiracy theorist...

I have a few good ones:

                                                1) I was unbelievably hot last year while living in the UK, I kept putting 2 and 3 team parlays together and kept winning. I never bet anything more than £300. Anyway over the course of a week I'm up £3000 (thats about $4500). One day feeling my luck I put together a two teamer with I think Colorado -7 at half(it hits) and the Chi Bulls team total. I take the Bulls team total at 113, but right as I click it it changes to 114.5. I take these two for £700 to win £1700.
I mustve pissed god off because the Bulls get to 113 with 6.5 minutes left in the fourth, end up at 114 and fail to make another bucket and I lose my team total of 114.5. http://espn.go.com/nba/playbyplay?ga...22001&period=4

Unfortunately that sent me into a tailspin. I turned the game off because with 9 mins left they were at 109, so I figured six points is a given. I literally did not notice that for two days as I decided to get out for a bit. Instead of getting out I went on furious rages throwing up stupid amounts on anything I could find. I only ended up being up a bit after all of this. Sucks because I had some bills I needed to pay off before I could plan any trips around Europe and instead I had to slowly pay off the bills and not go on the trips I wanted to.

                                                2) This past baseball season I threw together some stupid parlay. It was crazy odds, 5 in to win 4300. I took two teams to win by 1.5, I picked two porps of one team to be leading halfway thru the game and the other team to win it, I picked an upset, and my final click just to crank it up I wanted to pick the Red Sox ML (paid like -130), but instead I took Sox race to 3 (they were on the road). They get two in the first and are up 2-0. David Ortiz I think flies out with 2 men on in the top of the third. In the bottom of the third the other team scores 3 and win the race to 3. Of course the Red Sox score in the top of the 4th and win something like 11-5 on the game.

I have a few more, but those two stung the most. At both time I needed some cash flow and the way they were ripped away from me crushed me.

Most recent one was December 2nd. Washington @ Nevada. Huskies leading 65-60 with half a minute to go and Malik Story hits two 3-pointers in the final 16 seconds to send it to overtime. Nevada ends up winning by 3 but gets me bitter at Washington. So I bet against them against Marquette and Duke in the next week. Cover fairly easy against Marquette but Duke blows a huge second half lead and Washington hits a three at the buzzer to cover the spread. F*cking Washington, 0-3 in their games in a 8 day span.

too many to remember, but last sunday was pretty horrendous. 5 team parlay with ML on SD, KC, Indy and OAK... raiders killed it. if you saw the game you know what i'm talking about - up 13 late losing by 1. the play wasn't huge but the pay-out was nice. i was kicking puppies....

                                                      Steelers +2.5 at Jaguars 1997

Down 23-21, Steelers drive down the field and set themselves up with like a 43 yard FG attempt with 3 seconds left.. Whether they make or miss, doesn't matter, they cover. The kick was blocked and returned for a touchdown, 30-21 final.

Double whammy since I'm a Steeler fan.

In CBB, since I don't have much experience, it was probably this year when Wisconsin hit that half court 3 with no time left, right after UNC missed a free throw which would have made that shot irrelevant for my teaser.

Philip Rivers fumbling against KC when a kneeldown gets me the cover.

This isn't one game, but what is most fresh on my mind is this past weekend. In the 3 games I bet on, the turnover ratio was 9 against me, and 0 for me. 14-2 in the sack category, too.

Like the OP said, if there is a buzzer beater, you can bet it went against him. If there is a fumble, then you can count on it hurting me.

Probably not the worst beat I've ever taken, but still fresh in my mind: A few weeks back I took the Over on Jets vs. somebody. One more score, of any type, and the Over is good. Jets go with a running play. Shonn Green runs straight up the middle, finds a gap and for a split-second it looks like he is about to break free and be able to run it all the way in for a td. He runs square into the fukking referee who, because of the time in the game, is standing several yards closer behind the defensive line than he otherwise would. Jets end up either giving the ball back or taking a knee, I forget, the point is no more scoring.

                                                                Marist Vs. Manhattan last year

I think the game was a pick em. I had Marist for $1000. Game tied with 2 seconds to go, Marist dunks the ball to take a two point lead with .01 left. Manhattan passes the ball in under their own basket, guy takes one step and shoots it accross court a nanosecond before the red light came on and makes it to win the game by one and snatch my victory by a point. They reviewed it for 5 minutes and concluded the shot was good.

To add insult to injury, it was such an extraordinary shot, it became the play of the day on ESPN and was shown all day long. Then it became the play of the week and then the year. Just couldn't stop seeing it on TV.
