    Daviddaman2's Thursday Plays (Season: 19-9 (+16.1 Units)
    Wednesday: 1-2 (-4.6 Units)
    Season: 19-9 (+16.1 Units)

    Rough day yesterday going 1-2. As I mentioned in yesterdays thread though I really don't regret or second guess either of the losing plays. Iona shot an insane 58% from the field, and you aren't going to beat a team when they do that. Also no way in hell to expect something like that to happen when capping a game. Northern Colorado had Denver in a perfect situation to put up a W against them and let them off the hook. Just shows that Northern Colorado is even less talented than I thought. Denver would have lost a road game to about 90% of Division 1 teams in the nation last night. That team was ripe for a beating. Anyways, moving on... Here we go with Thursday's card.

    UC Irvine +15.5 (2 Units)
    Gonzaga -12 (3 Units)

    Write up's later... best of luck to you all

    UC Irvine +15.5 - LSU has been playing some decent basketball lately with wins over Boise State, Houston and Rutgers, due to which I feel this line is about 2-3 points higher than it should be. Lets not overlook this an LSU team that has lost games to South Alabama and Coastal Carolina already this season. Tonight Irvine will be looking to run, especially after their last game was slowed to a crawl by a Wyoming teams who clearly was going out of their way to play a grind it out slow it down game. Against LSU, Irvine is more likely to have found a team willing to run with him. The Tigers aren't as comfortable running as Irvine is but they'll be willing to do it, especially at home in a game where they'll be expected to easily win. Irvine has had their struggles this season there's no way around that, but tonight the game should be played at the pace in which their most comfortable allowing them to hang around. I see something along the lines of 75-65 LSU win.

      Gonzaga -12 - Here we've got what I like to call a "take out your frustration" game. The Zags are coming off back to back 7 point losses against Illinois and Michigan State in games where frankly they were just less talented than their opponent. Tonight that won't be the case, and at home it's going to be a game where the Zags put their foot down and get back to playing solid basketball. Oral Roberts has a nice 7-3 record but only have 1 road win on the year and that came on a 3 pointer at the buzzer against an Arkansas Little Rock team that is worlds away from what they'll face tonight against an angry Gonzaga team. No need to over analyze this game. Give me the better team, playing at home, and with a chip on their shoulder. Zags by 20.

        Plus LSU point guard Andre Stringer (avg. 12 points) may not play today. Considering him out of the game, LSU will not cover the spread. This could be a " BIG PLAY" for us tonight.

            I saw that he was a bit banged up... I like Irvine even if he plays. Like them more if he doesn't

                  LSU's last game, also without Stringer they beat Boise St (8-2) by 19 points.

                  I still lean Cal Irvine, but won't play it.

                    Which is why I feel this line is a bit inflated. Everyone will point to LSU's last game (as you just did) and assume they'll do the same thing to an Irvine team that's worse than Boise is. If only it were that easy... we'd all be rich

                          There are plenty of reasons why UC Irvine is a 15 point dog;

                          -They are 2-7 (0-6 on the road)
                          -Short turnaround after loss @ Wyoming
                          -14 point loss to Div. II Alaska Anch.
                          -Saturday's 2 point win over NAIA Vanguard Univ. (Christian College w/1,400 students)
