Yes, in a game where Hawaii shot 50% and still could not hold off the Pack at Lawlor.

And in smacking around, Hawaii tried to choke away a 19-point second half lead, only winning by 4 at home versus the Aggies.

The Warriors have struggled against teams who play slow, to which the Aggies definitely can attest. If Hawaii controls tempo, I am a loser, as Utah State will turn it over and Johnson is a guard that can easily take advantage. But Hawaii has always struggled in Logan and Utah St, despite their poor record still shoots 47 percent. Morgan Grim stays out of foul trouble, the Aggies will cover. Utah St., unlike most of the WAC, also plays more man-to-man, which can keep Ostrowski in front of them; Johnson on the dribble is less dangerous than a spotted up ZJ.

Just how I looked at the game.

Hawaii's shooting 49% (Utah St. is 50%) in conference play and holding conference opponents shooting to less than 40%. If Utah St. plays man-to-man, our bigs will have a field day. If they switch to zone, Miah will penetrate and Zane will be able to get spotted up for some nice looks. Ever since the loss of Jardine, Utah St. has struggled to win the rebounding battle where Hawaii will have a huge upswing. Only way Hawaii doesn't cover is if Miah has an uncharacteristic turnover day (he's been rock solid thus far) or if the bigs get in foul trouble fast. Hawaii +9 is my POD, so playing it large. Will also play ML small. Here's a nice quote from Utah St. head coach, Stew Morrill:

"Hawaii is like playing New Mexico State or playing Nevada, they have that kind of size and talent. They have a premier shooter in Zane Johnson, they are huge inside with their 4 and 5. They are strong and talented and they're playing well defensively. The point guard, football player, basketball player, I used to just call him a football player. He's not, he's a really good basketball player."
