Thanks all. Checking in now and then but think I needed the break. Enjoying all the free time I have not watching or capping stress free. Get to play more online poker haha. I'll be back for sure. Hawaii is a different team w/ Ostrowski back (5-1 ATS, 7-2 SU).

Only game I capped today and its a spot I normally fade Hawaii on the road. Historically, Hawaii has a terrible record ATS on their first road game of any road trip. Playing at the Save Mart Center isn't going to be easy.

Defensively, they have shown they can keep opposing "star" guards below their average. Slowing down Olekaibe is key and getting their inside game going with Joaquim and Thomas muscling in the paint with an outside threat from Johnson. I believe this Hawaii team has what it takes to surprise people on the road. The way the bigs of Hawaii have been playing lately, I feel they have a shot at beating first year head coach Rodney Terry. Fresno will have a hard time defending against this duo. Fresno is all about its guard play and will have 2-4 guards on the floor at a time. Olekaibe will get his points but it'll be hard earned and possbly slightly below his season average or right about spot on. Hawaii is turnover prone while Fresno St has a decent defense and takes care of the ball fairly well. Hawaii should be able to get to the line easily with their insidge game and they also will give up silly fouls, earning a bunch of bonus for Fresno. With that said, I feel a play on the over has merit.

About Olekaibe: "The Fresno State sophomore has had some great second halves this season, scoring more than a point a minute against Manhattan (22 points in 20 minutes), North Dakota State (20 in 16), and Arizona State (21 in 20) and went into the WAC opener averaging 12.0 points in the second half of games. More, it should be noted, than any of the other Bulldogs are averaging per game."
This is a game Hawaii feels it has to win. First conference road game with a 2nd one against 1st place conference favorite, Nevada, up next to come away minimally 1-1 on the road. Hopefully history doesn't bite me in the ass and Hawaii performs poorly, as usual, on the road.
"Fresno State guard Larry McGaughey is academically ineligible for the spring semester, athletic director Thomas Boeh said, and the 6-foot-5 junior has decided to leave school.
McGaughey had played some of his most meaningful minutes of the season on the Bulldogs' road trip to Utah State and Idaho and his departure depletes an already thin roster for the men's basketball team.

Look for Hawaii to establish down low. Olekaibe will get into foul trouble and Hawaii will build this lead. I was off on the over and hoping to catch the 2H under after Hawaii holds the lead and will start to work time off the clock. Refs are letting them play so hopefully that continues in the 2H. Fresno St doesn't have much of a bench and they are thin. I've been really wrong many times though. =pComment
