Can you imagine Stevens at a big time school? This guy just wins, and gets the job done. His team is always undersized, less talented, and still wins when it counts. Can you imagine him at Duke? Pitt? Mich St? Kansas?

We might be looking at the next Wooden.

If I was the Pittsburgh AD, after seeing how bad Dixon was outcoached by Stevens, I would fire that ass clown and present Stevens with a blank check. Whatever big name program grabs him up is going to be many many titles down the road

Coach "K" will get the all time wins record, and then keep that seat warm for Stevens to shatter down the road

I just watched a ton of porn and now I'm getting all kinds of pop ups, I think it's a virus. Does anyone have Brad Stevens number, he looks like a nerdy guy who would know how to fix my computer?

He needs to move on, their facilities suck ass. He don't have no million dollar lockerroom and won't get the five star recruits unless he gets the facilities.

while i think stevens is a very, very, good coach....if he were at a big time school hed probably face the same problems most of the coaches at the programs you mentioned face.....lotta of early draft entrees... and players who feel entitled because they have been recruited by the best schools.....lotta attitudes that come along with that and guys trying to show off for the nba.....what he has at butler works because those attitudes and selfishness arent there....5 star recruits can be more of pain sometimes than a blessing

I'm not really sure his teams would be THAT much better. People say the same sorts of things about Bo Ryan at Wisconsin. What if he had all these athletes? etc. Coaches like Stevens and Ryan have good teams because they have the "right" players for their system, not necessarily the best players.

he is fine at Butler he is turning that place into a juggernaut for NBA players to come out of now apparently. I expect that program to send atleast 1 NBA player out every year now as long as Stevens is their. He already has a great recruiting class coming in to play for him next year and Butler will be extremely interesting to watch next year to see how they transition again, but his recruiting class is top notch for the Horizion League

if stevens was a major conf coach he would blow his head off dealing with the studpidity of all those "more talented players".... i think he will take his group of high IQ guys who are willing to be coached and play as a team all day over a first overall nba pick who dont give a flying fuk about team ball. just my opinion. yes, that first overall pick stud can win you a championship, but I don't think he buys into that myself. they preach and preach doing it the Butler way and I believe them when they say it.
also, they are going to continue to get quality players, facilities or not. National Championship game last year, Elite 8 so far this year.

                      I second what chilly said..

You start coaching at a bigtim pgram, and all the substance of baskketball is gone. It becomes money driven, and you have to deal with the shady AAU coaches who want money for their player.

Butler gets guys without ego, and are willing to be coached. Watch Butler play defense, and look @UNC today.

                        IT WOULD NOT WORK....

he has to coach these type of kids cause he can relate to them in some-way...

young, underdogs, keeps them going and gets them motivated...

if he had i.e,: a Cousins,Sullinger,Wall, anyone on Kansas or Mich St. he wouldn't be as good...

there's just something about em' coaching the dogs..

So all of you are saying that if Stevens coached at a big time school he would just stop recruiting the kinds of players he thinks are right for his system? Of course not. He won't have to deal with attitudes because he won't recruit the "calipari" and "self" kinds of players. If you think this guys coaching destination is Butler then you're kidding yourself. He will be gone in the next 5 years.

Would love to see him at Illinois...

next 5 years? IMO that is a LONG time period..... most coaches doing what he is doing would be gone yesterday. so, if you think he will be there 5 more years, why not longer?
