worst ref'd game i've seen this year wvu/kentucky

surprised no thread on this yet but it is sickening how obvious it is that the refs are all over wvu and kentucky is still up 5 with 5 min to go, to me it seems like the questionable calls are going in wvu's favor 90% of the time and i don't think that's an exaggeration

i don't know how these refs are getting away with it, but if kentucky covers my 3 it will be my most rewarding win of the year, Kentucky was obvious the right play today but some wvu backers may get a lucky one

I am also on Kentucky, but I see the game being called relatively well. Stop crying, I wonder what you'd be on here saying if the game really was being called unfairly.

There's a difference between a game being officiated evenly throughout the game and it being evenly officiated by one team getting the calls in the 1st half and the other getting the calls in the 2nd half. This was an example of each team getting favorable calls in opposite halfs, and as usual the team that got em in the 2nd half won.
I don't feel that KY was handed the game, but they did benefit from the refs feeling obligated to even it up in the 2nd half. Bottom line the team that. Gets the calls in the 2nd half of a game is gonna win/cover most of the time.

The game is within 5 pts with 4 minutes to go, and the refs are calling such ticky tack fouls on WV, bailing UK out, putting them at the line for 2 shots.

Referees are mostly egotistical assholes who probably never made the varsity team in high school and have spent the rest of their life trying to make up for it by influencing games that they otherwise could never take part it. My opinion is to expand instant replay and to get former players to ref these games, because at least they truly understand the game.
I'm so sick and tired of hearing about how much the refs do it for the love of the game. Everyone forgets that they DO get paid to do this and they finally in their life get to have an impact on the game instead of getting cut from their jr high team.
