how come kenpom never has a lower rank team beating a higher rank team. every time i check out the web site all the predictions is favored for the higher rank team.

I noticed the same thing. I like using it alot earlier this season when I heard about it, but his numbers were essentially the official vegas lines so you really had to use his numbers as part of a bigger process.
It is essentially pointless though as he will never have an upset listed on here from what I've seen.Comment -

First, there's a big difference between "basically" the vegas line, and "actually" the vegas line.
Second, the reason that they are typically pretty close is that many sharps use Pomeroy's numbers to help them cap games. if there is a significant difference between the Pomeroy lines and vegas lines, it tends to get pounded into place pretty quickly.Comment -
Also, the reason that he does not typically predict outright upsets is because they are nearly impossible to predict. The better the teams are typically seeded higher than the lower teams (that is, they are "expected" to win). However, take a look at USU/Kensas State if you are looking for an outright "upset" prediction.Comment -
