Anyone afraid of Spiders? I like Richmond!!
The Spiders, who have four senior starters who will be among those feted prior to today's home finale, have locked up a first-round bye in the upcoming A-10 Tournament. However, despite a 23-7 record they are anything but certain for an at-large bid at this point to the Big Dance. They can ill-afford a loss today and most likely need to notch a couple of wins in the conference tournament.
While Richmond has won three in a row and seven of eight, Duquesne has followed an 11-game winning streak by losing five of seven most recently. The Dukes are just 1-3 SU in their last four road games, too.
This will be a contrast of styles; Richmond likes to take it slow using is superior outside shooting and stingy match-up zone defenses to stymie opponents. Duquesne, on the other hand, likes to put it foot on the accelerator and play up-tempo from start to finish.
