There’s a major logjam in the Big East and this week’s action will go a long way in determining the seeds for the conference tournament. Four teams are currently tied for seventh place and each is hoping to avoid playing on the first day of the tourney at MSG. West Virginia knows it will have to try to contain Kemba Walker as much as possible on Wednesday, which is a lot easier said than done. Walker sits second in the conference averaging 22.8 points per game and can expect to see a lot of West Virginia’s 1-3-1 zone defense. “Just force him into tough shots,” WVU point guard Joe Mazzulla told reporters about how the Huskies plan to defend Walker. “He’s a great player and will create his own shot and whatever we did with Hansbrough – we want to kind of wear him down and make every shot he takes a tough one and don’t give him anything easy.”Nothing’s going to come easy in this one. Take the points here and expect it to go down to the wire.

If Walker goes off then they can certainly keep this close but I expect a really good effort from WVU - they're a good home team and are coming off a solid home win against ND. I also like how they played at Rutgers in the second half on Sunday. I got WVU at -4 earlier today and you could probably get them -4 again if you wait until close to gametime. They should cover that if they play well, and I think they're going to play well tonight

I don't think one good game against Cincinnati (who by the way was in a really flat spot for them coming off several big wins in a row) means that UConn has momentum. The two games before that were both losses to Marquette at home and Louisville on the road - similar quality teams to WVU. If anything, I think WVU has a bit of momentum here - I liked how they played at Rutgers, and the home win against notre dame was pretty impressive. 5 points is a lot of points, I'll give you that, but it doesn't seem so high if you look at the fact that UConn has lost 4 of its last 8 games by more than that
