Because of the top teams in the conference's schedule.

Just about 50 percent of their games all season were a tournament type game.
Look at UCONN's OOC games, beat Texas, beat (#2 at the time) MSU, not to mention all those BE conference games.

This years winner should come out of the Big East.

The "Beast" has been this way for a few years now man. Only thing that has changed is little by little people are beginning to accept the fact that the BE is to CollegeBB as the SEC is to College FB. That being said the BE hasn't won the championship during this time.

Does the schedule they play during the regular season help them prepare for the tourney better ? Without a doubt
Do they beat themselves up too much through the regular season, and then their conference tournament ? Probably
Were some teams given a "raw deal" by the selection committee when it comes to their path through the tourney ? No question

Overall though even though it might be the strongest conference that does not necessarily translate into the conference having the best chance to put a winner out there. Like with any team the right path is going to help. Throw in some luck too while your at it. If you ask me though the beasts top team firing on all cylinders wouldn't beat some of the other teams out there firing on all cylinders.
