Ok starting off G. Mason has become an ATS POWER-HOUSE covering their last 14 games in a row and 21-5 ATS overall this year. Also, they've covered with very notable wins against teams that are good, i.e: Duquesne, ODU, James Madison(2 times)and @ VCU...point being, regardless who they play, they seem to bulldoze their competition whether it be a lower-tier or top tier team....
Now case in-point, NEastern is defenitly not a top-tier team that they once sort-of were...making the big tourney a couple times, in the NIT, ect,ect....OK....the thing is even tho this team has a losing record (10-18) they are still 13-12 against the spread...most notable covers: @ Utah St(they were getting 16 and lost 54-56! by 2!)....@ Princeton(who is top of ivy league/undefeated @ home); they were getting 4.5 and lost by 2;63-65...@ James Madison. who is a strong 11-3 @ home a powerhouse of their own, covered getting 8.5 losing by 6...covering @ VCU getting 12 but losing 64-73...losing to @Hofsta 75-78, where they were getting 6....Point is....this team plays tough no matter home, but i would say more tough on the road.....
FUN FACT: OUT OF 15 AWAY GAMES THEY'VE ONLY LOST A GAME BY MORE THAN 16 PTS ONE TIME!!!!/1 TIME!!!
Note: Not to mention as this past Saturday they were @ UNC Ashville(who the hell knows who they are, anyways) but were LEADING N.Eastern 44-27 @ half. What does N.E do? score 56 pts in the 2nd half and win the game on the road!!!
Now you say what does that mean....G. Mason should blow them out of the water, it's senior night for them, there on an incredible run and really playing for something here....well there are history between these two teams and keys for N. Eastern to TRY and win as they have 4 senior's as well...
the following are notes found on the N.Eastern Athletic site:
HISTORY
The Huskies return to conference play with a trip to Fairfax, Va., to take on league-leading George Mason in Northeastern’s final CAA road game of the season. The Huskies are looking to salvage a split in the regular-season series after falling to the Patriots in Boston on Jan. 12. George Mason has not swept the regular-season series with Northeastern since 2005-06, the year the Huskies first joined the CAA and the Patriots reached the Final Four. George Mason holds a 9-8 edge in the all-time series, which dates back to 1990, and Northeastern’s current seniors are 4-4 against the Patriots in their careers, which includes a loss to George Mason in the 2008 CAA Tournament.
KEYS TO THE GAME FOR N. EASTERN
-Northeastern’s starting guard trio of Chaisson Allen, Jonathan Lee and Joel Smith have become a key to the Huskies’ success and their recent emergence has coincided with Northeastern’s late-season improvement. Northeastern is 7-3 when all three score in double figures, which they have done in eight of the last nine games
-Spreading out the offense has been a key to success for the Huskies this season. In six of Northeastern’s 10 wins this season, the Huskies have had four players score in double figures. Senior guard Chaisson Allen has scored in double figures in every Northeastern win this season. The Huskies are 6-3 when four or more players score in double figures.
-The Huskies have shot 44.2 percent from beyond the arc in wins, and are shooting just 34.4 percent from three-point land in losses. The Huskies are 9-7 when shooting over 35.3 percent from beyond the arc and 1-11 when shooting under 35.3 percent.
-The Huskies are 31-6 (.838) since the start of the 2007-08 season when holding an opponent under 40 percent shooting. This season, though, Northeastern is just 1-3 when it held its opponent to under 40 percent field goal shooting.
KEEP IN MIND: The total for THIS GAME IS SET AT 141.
previous totals were:
-130
-126
-122
-123
-121
-124
ect,ect.....
THIS IS THE HIGHEST TOTAL FOR THESE 2 TEAMS EVER MEETING....
THE KEY TO NORTHEASTERN WINNING/COVERING IS THEM SCORING OVER 60 as stated above....
what does that tell u ?
-The Huskies are 0-7 this season when scoring 60 points or fewer and have lost their last nine games overall when scoring 60 or fewer. Northeastern’s last win without hitting 60 points came on Feb. 27, 2010, in a 50-48 win at George Mason.
BIG PLAY ON N.EASTERN +16 tonight for me (10x)
