Not really following your logic here.

In the previous meeting between Rice and SMU, SMU shot 56% (27-48) from the floor, 42% (11-26) from the three point line and only committed 15 turnovers (which is a lot better than their season average of 22 turnovers per game). Those are some pretty decent numbers.

As far as Rice's inability to rebound, I think you have to look at the situation rather than just overall stats. While Rice is ranked #232 in total rebounds per game, they out-rebounded SMU 32-21 and 11-2 on the offensive glass in the first matchup (pretty scary numbers considering what SMU shot that game). Not to mention that their team defensive rebounding % is ranked 7th nationally.

While I don't expect SMU to shoot the lights out again like they did the first game, you're talking about a team that has lived and died by the "three" all season long. Not exactly a team I'd want to roll the dice on the totals with, especially with so many other options on the board.
