Illini at home is a beast, only loss was to Ohio State in a close game. They have beaten the following at home

Wisconsin, N'western, Mich. State, Penn State

Purdue has lost 4 in a row on the road to Minny, W. Vir. Ohio State and Wisky. Gotta go with the home team here in a good game.

Why does it seem 'too simple'. People make the mistake of rating teams overall. In college basketball, you gotta split each team into two. This isn't Purdue vs. Illinois. This is Road Purdue vs. Home Illinois. These two teams have some of the biggest disparities between their home/road teams. Illinois Home is significantly superior to Purdue Road. Illinois Home -2.5 really seems pretty simple to me. I think this is off by 2/2.5 points. Illinois -2.5 57-60% play.

Ranked teams going on the road against unranked teams as a dog went 2-0 yesterday with UNC and San Diego St winning. Hmm Purdue my make it 3-0 for the weekend. Purdue came out strong in the 2nd half.

Pitt won as a ranked dog on the road but they beat Villinova who was also ranked. Ohio St was the only ranked team that went on the road as a dog and lost yesterday.

There was always the danger that this was going to be a let down game for Illinois after the unexpected BIG win over minnesota.....Gotta love the predictability of this league in these situations
