Explain this to me re: Illinois/Northwestern Saturday
On Jan. 6, Illinois was an 8-point favorite at home against rival Northwestern. They routed the Wildcats, 88-63.

So now, on Feb. 5, Northwestern is a 1-point favorite? WTF?

I'm taking the Wildcats out of sheer principle due to this insane line.

It's a weird culture in the Big Ten--e.g. no matter how good PSU football is and how bad Iowa is recently, Iowa gets the better of them. Similar Hx with the IL-NW game. In-state rivals, no love-lost and NW ALWAYS plays IL tough at home in every sport. I agree that the line seems fuk'd, but IL is inconsistent (esp. on the road) and if NW hits from distance, the very likely outcome. Personally a no play, but would lean IL as they get to the hoop/line more often.

Agree on the no play. Road wins are hard to come by in the Big Ten, and Illinois is bad enough as it is. Plus, Shurna is back for Northwestern. It really depends on how well the 'Cats shoot from three, but I'm staying away from this one.

Illini just lost on the road @ Indiana, couldn't get those FTs to drop. Will be raining 3's. If ur gonna play NW better do it now. Line will only rise IMO.

im guessing you play the entire board daily? all for serious units?

There's usually one or two good games even on a busy day like saturday to pick from. If that makes the rest of them 'trap games' with 'trap lines' than so be it..

Thing is every post from No Coincidences is about trap lines and line movements. Check out his threads and you see what i mean. He thinks they rig nba totals with 2 minutes left in an nba game.

He had Boston on the ML against Dallas yesterday in some parlays which he lost and kept whining. Check out this quote he said.

"As I said before, I honestly don't remember a team going the last 2:43 of a game without scoring a single point in 25 years of watching the NBA -- let alone the C's on their home court in a nationally televised game."

Northwestern has been playing teams tough without their leading scorer I believe he will be back for this game and that mixed in with homecourt is enough to make Northwestern the favs I beleive the line is correct fwiw!

If you don't like nocoin's point of view, don't click on his threads. Simple.

I find that seemingly unexplainable lines, and line movement, are an important part of the puzzle, and I appreciate his posts.

John Shurna hurt his ankle in the first meeting, which had a lot to do with the blow-out. Shurna's back today from different injury (concussion). one of the best shooters in the country and completely changes what NU can do. he opens the court enough for other guys to drive, and he's decent and head-faking and drawing fouls.

I see nothing wrong with that comment. Seems very true to me, I can't remember seeing a team the caliber of Boston not scoring in the last 2:43 of an NBA home game. In college maybe but not the whistle happy NBA.

Welcome to the Big 10 man... I think this line is right on..maybe a pick 'em would be better. There are some Big 10 home teams that play lights out no matter who the opponent is and just suck on the road. Northwestern is one of them, Minnesota another, Iowa and Indiana are pains in the asses as well at home.

Still a no-play, but if forced, would take the Illini and the -1.5/one bucket--as long as Dmitri doesn't playground ball.
