MSU's downfall
Aside from the fact that there are physical shortcomings with this team and the freshmen haven't developed into the role players they need, there are definite chemistry issues here. Kalin Lucas had to sit out the entire offseason with a ruptured achilles, which basically ruined any rapport he could build with the newcomers on the court and took away his biggest asset (speed).
Then Allen gets kicked off the team; Lucas, Summers and Allen were close. Obviously some problems there. Then Lucious gets kicked off mid-season, which never works well and always seems to divide camps.
Not having Allen and Morgan around hurts, because they were the two best rebounders and defenders on last year's squad. But it goes beyond the physical at this point; the nose-dive can be attributed to a split lockerroom, and issues like that don't go away overnight. Continue fading them from here on out -- there is no "rally" in this year's squad IMHO.Comment -

How bad is Michigan State?
I was looking at Thursdays card and noticed the Penn St/MSU game. It looks to me like the Spartans have quite that last game against Wisconsin was just plain ridiculous. They played zero defense and Wisconsin had nearly scored on every possession. In fact they have not played any defense in quit a while. Their last six games the defense has been a joke.............

This Michigan State team laying 6.5 against a pretty decent conference foe (PSU played Ohio State and Purdue very competitively on the road), and a solid majority of bets are still on the Spartans.
