Dangerous game in my opinion. The Gophers NEED this game in the worst way, and in all honesty have been playing much better then their 1-3 Big 10 record indicates. This game means way more to Minny then Purdue, and I think they match up pretty well.

With that said, I will be taking a backseat on this one!

Guys, just an observation... I rarely, in fact almost never, bet against an unranked team at home when they are hosting a ranked conference opponent. Just think about the last two nights, Kansas loses ats to Iowa State, Ohio State loses ats to Michigan, Duke loses SU to Florida State, Illinois loses ats to Penn State. Be careful if you're betting favorites on the road in conference. This is a must win for Minnesota and their place will be rocking.

If you play defense like the Boilers, you are immune to upsets. Minnesota is coming apart with Mbakwe unable to stay out of trouble and Devoe Joseph leaving the team. Let's not forget the Gophers blew a huge halftime lead at home to Virginia. The unusually soft rims at The Barn will help Ryne Smith go off again, he's shooting 3s at a Shurna/Diebler level.

You can't compare Purdue with Ohio State @ Michigan, or Illinois @ PSU. Those two are finesse teams that don't have the Boiler's toughness. As for Duke, everyone knew FSU's size and physicality would be a bad matchup for them, FSU's god-awful jumpshooting notwithstanding.

As for Purdue not having anything to play for, well, the Barn is where Robbie Hummel tore his ACL last year, turning them from a Final Four team into a Sweet Sixteen team. Then they also lost badly to the Gophers in the Big Ten Tournament. But most importantly, the weakness shown by MSU, Wisconsin, and Illinois makes the Big Ten a two-team race between Purdue and Ohio State, and the Boilers are going to need this win to keep pace with Sullinger & co.

Great points above! I also feel people are over playing the home court advantage card here...Its the "Barn" not the Dean Dome, Coach K Court, or even the Kohl Center of Wisconsin....Yes it will be a challenge playing at the barn but its still an average home court
