What's up SBR. It's about that time of year again to start betting NCAA basketball heavily again. Last season, I profited 300 units during Big East conference play starting about this time and going through the Big East tournament. My strategy is simple: primarily underdogs with the points. Now that Big East conference play is starting to heat up, the system is starting to work again.
1/8: Underdogs go 4-2 (including UConn +8 @ Texas which was an unreasonably high line). The only two underdogs that didn't cover: St Johns @ Notre Dame and Providence @ Rutgers. St Johns was a tough loss, but just as a rule of thumb... never bet on Providence. Period.
1/9 Underdogs go 1-1. I stayed away from both of these games because I felt Cinci was overrated (and therefore didn't cover @Nova) and this was the first big game that USF has played (they covered @Louisville).
This system is not perfect, but it is definitely a good starting point. More importantly, this system will keep you from falling into the trap bets that are so common place in college basketball. The more you watch these games, the more you will start to understand the build of each team, but as the season moves forward there will be plenty of opportunities to bet on undervalued squads who have avg records due to the consistently gruesome Big East competition.
I will start posting my picks of the day this week.
