Even if they didn't, though, why would an 8-6 road SEC team be favored over an 8-6 home SEC team?

I admittedly don't know much about either squad, but it seems like this line should be reversed.

Alabama's highest-rated win this year has been over No. 151 Lipscomb, and Mississippi State is unbeaten at home.

They've played two true road games this year, losing by 19 at Purdue and 12 at Providence.

Back when Bama had a decent program they were poor on the road. They could beat almost anybody in the country some yrs at home and lose to anybody in the country on the road. I would not bet Bama on the road.

I know in the NBA, this tends to disrupt a team's rhythm and they don't always play well in that first game.

Maybe that's being taken into consideration?

honestly Sidney is far better than anybody Alabama can put on the court. He and Bost are double digit scorers for any team in the country. I know MSU has a lot of chemistry issues but they outclass Alabama

Miss State is a joke!!!I had them on a teaser +14 and they couldn't even cover that.Also they ****** me on a 4 team parlay which would of paid 104 since I pushed on Ball State.These guys suck and if you find yourself betting on them again just do yourself a favor and burn your money.Sad bunch of players.
