1.5.2010 Michigan v Wisconsin TOTAL Play
    O/U 116

Does anyone else feel this total is set too low? These teams avg. 139 and they are a combined 9-7 on O/U this year and 6-0 in the last 6. Maybe they are due for an Under but 116 seems low for any college basketball game. Thoughts???

With whisky you never know. They can go 5 minutes without scoring or make 6 threes in a row...tough call. The line is saying they hold Michigan around 50. If Michigan makes 3's then whisky will have to answer and not grind as much and it will go over easily

Sorry Brew - I'm not a huge poster and needed a good title so I just took one from a previous thread.

I wanted to play the OVER here at 116, but Wisconsin is the slowest tempo team in ALL of college basketball. They are ranked #345 out of 345 D1 college basketball programs. One interesting thing is that although they're ranked last in tempo, they're ranked 10th in the country in offensive efficiency, so they're making the most of their limited possessions.

Michigan is ranked 319/345 in tempo and also make the most of their possessions, ranked #72.

Both of these teams have a very low turnover percentage, meaning they don't turn it over on offense and don't force a lot on defense. This leads to very few fast break points and easy buckets.

The fact that they held Minnesota to only 60 points a couple games ago really makes me think the Wisky D will hold Michigan to 55 or so points.

If Wisconsin can cover the spread (-11), I think this goes over.

64-52 covers the number and gets you to the total. I wouldn't expect Wisky to put up 64 points without some serious foul trouble by Michigan. Maybe the play here is Michigan +11?

It's an awful lot of points to catch in a conference game that is sure to be low scoring.

I like Mich +11. The o/u is iffy. A 60-55 game keeps this Under and Mich covers.
