How are you guys doing in NBA, still following the system?
I have looked at it from time to time but stopped betting them personally has not been as successful as previously that is for sure or least was not for me.
The Pinny Leans meant alot earlier in the year than they seem to now.

Still think NBA this way would stay profitable but NCAA not so sure.

I believe this is the thinking behind this strategy:

Let's say the line is most accurate right before the start of the game, the closing line. If the line opened at 5 and ended at 7.5, the best predictor of the final score of the game is 7.5. Now there would be an advantage at 5, 5.5, 6, 6.5, and 7 (as there would be since the line was sharply moving up) because the books would juice the lines until they mathematically decided to change the line a half point. If you read the line at 5 or 5.5 or 6 or even 6.5 you would be getting a bad read because you would only buy up to +8, or 8.5 etc. If you waited until the last possible line, the most accurate line, you would've bet at 10.5. The juice that we read at those bad numbers is meaningless in the middle of the day, its purely arbitrary. I would suggest going back (as I have done in the NBA) and finding the closing lines at pinnacle games, running those numbers, and seeing how it turned out. In the NBA it hit at a fine rate. I am betting in the NBA that way and doing fine. Best of luck whatever you guys do.

Also, many smart bettors (and large bettors) bet as close to the closing line as possible so if one side is juiced right before the start of the game, it is likely that the smart bettors bet that side. In the middle of the day its just bullshit

Also...the books believe the line is right when it comes out. The bettors push it one way or another. If they push it the wrong way then it can work against you

Well yeah I know. But i wouldn't force action at 2pm just because you wont be able to make plays at 6pm that night. And are you saying opening lines are more accurate than closing lines?

Opening lines are what the books deem as accurate at the time. Remember they don't bet games just distribute money. The public sets the final line and most bettors aren't making any cash. Trying to get it at 50% makes them $$$$ guaranteed.
