Have been playing a different (non-Cheme) angle for NCAA baskets.
Tonight that system gives me a pick on Syracuse -13 (no point buying) ; undefeated since I started playing and posting these.
Only play over the Xmas break since my last pick was Hawaii on Xmas day, which I missed to post and missed to play but it did win.
I am concentrating on this angle now, but will tail Cheme and/or impper if they post their NBA options.
My NBA picks using Cheme's system haven't been as good as theirs have been overall.

my "angle" proved to not work last night as Syracuse won but did not cover the -13 number.
I am sorry for anyone that tailed.
I still believe it has merit and will continue to play. incomeraise, I wish I had tracked longer but it is not something I can backtrack.
Since I have been watching for it, the plays are 8-2 including last night's loss, but obviously 10 plays really does not mean anything.
The problem with it is that there are days with no plays at all and probably only 5 or so per week.

why do they need to post their daily picks? You have the tools and instructions on how to use them in the cheme threads. these guys have been more than helpful to everyone on how they arrive at their plays each day. go back and read how to do it yourself. it isn't difficult.
rather than feeding the fish, they taught you how to fish. the info is there for anyone who wants to take the time. if your to lazy to learn how to fish, well.......

Utah state -20 is a play for me (no point buying) ; hate such a large number but we will see what happens.
I will post these until Cheme returns full time to see how they do, I am playing them for cash as well.

I went 1-1 which was disappointing Montana State covered but Utah State did not come close to covering the large number.
The line was very strange on that game last night, not sure anyone cares but 70% were on Hawaii as dogs yet the line went from -18 to -20 ; that is not my angle but definitely reinforced my play and had me scratching my head at the same time.
Utah State played to win but didn't care about a blowout making it a close game the whole time, they never lost the lead and played their bench a great deal so it never came close to 20.

Hope everyone had great and safe holidays.
I have read a couple of posts about people not posting plays or keeping them to themselves, etc. The thing of it is that anyone who wants to follow this system is able to do so without needing anyone's help. I started posting my picks with units every day and grading them without delay as soon as the games went final. After continued success on CFB, NFL, NBA, and CBB the threads slowly started filling up with posters sharing their support and success with the system. When they asked how I came up with the picks, I gladly told them and explained in detail how to do exactly what I was doing. There is a school of thought that is prevalent in sports-gambling circles that when you find a good thing, you keep it to yourself. I am not a fan of that theory although I do understand its value. My parents taught me to be generous and to help anyone I can, so I do. I'm not naive though, I understand most people have a "What's in it for me?" mentality and to them what I did was stupid. What I find riveting is the fact that this people will readily profit from someone else's sytem/idea/picks/information but would bitch at you if you were inclined to "share" this information with someone else. A little selfish for my taste, but sadly nowadays they are the norm and I'm the exception.
That being said, the system that I have been using makes it almost impossible for all of us to come up with the same picks because it involves point-buying and line shopping. Since lines move all day (or at least juice), 2 people checking the same game at different times will probably get different lines (or at least juice on the same line). This discrepancies might make someone have the game rated at a certain amount of units and someone else have the same game rated differently, or maybe not even have it as a play altogether.
Some people like to run the numbers early in the morning because the lines are softer earlier in the day and they usually move our way so you can get extra value there. Some others like to run them at 2 p.m. because that's when the boss goes to lunch and that way he won't catch my ass on pinnacle while at work. I like to run the numbers right before game time because the lines probably won't change so I'm basically calculating my edge against closing lines and there is less chance of a line moving against you. Whatever you decide to do, it's ok because we are operating from a value bet perspective and the bets are +EV.
All the info you need is on the threads, if you need help finding them let me know by p.m. because I won't be checking this thread that much. I will probably create a new thread in the NBA forum with daily picks in case you guys want to check that out.

I really believe that this is what some of us needed to understand.
Speaking only for myself, I can say what a delight it was when you ran the games and posted them according to your results.
It was simple to follow, easy, nice and neat. There we're no "conflicting" voices who had run games at different times or were using different lines from several moving book lines.
Again, I speak only for myself. The problem is certainly not one of attempting to avoid doing the work involved by running the numbers. The problem for me (being the dummy that I am) was attempting to correlate certain mitigating factors in order to bring about the very best result.
First and foremost was in properly learning to utilize the SBR Half Point Calculator.
Now, I readilly admit that I'm certainly no Rhodes Scholar, however I do consider myself to be lucid (lol...sometimes) and ma capable of subjective and deductive thinking and reasoning. I read and reread the entire thread several times as well as the instructions you left and the way that several of the other contributing members of the thread were using it in conjunction with the book of their choice. (mostly Pinny)
But Cheme...for the life of me I couldn't figure the silly thing out. I experimented over and over again with where to input certain figures and what to do to follow up with determining the unit amounts. I read quire thoroughly ALL of the instructions included on the the calculator page itself.
Scrolling up or down caused changes that I didn't quite understand

I'm simply totally lost at trying to figure it out.
So, I suppose, some of us simply got used to obtaining the game results from Chilidog and/or immper who, indecently, both did a superlative job in your absence while you were away and deserve a lot of credit.
Perhaps I can touch base with someone who can almost literally take me by the hand and walk me through the selection process.
Anyway, welcome back and hope that perhaps you can help some of us through the process via cut and paste demonstrations of exactly what goes where, when and how.
Okay...now you can all get a good laugh at my silliness and stupidity.
But that's quite alright. I laugh at myself at least 5 to 10 times daily!

It takes alot of committment to post daily especially around the holidays
I don't think chili or anyone else stopped posting cause he was making a ton of money and wanted to keep it to himself
1. I believe family committments have made it difficult to post here multiple times a day
2 fact is after cheme left this system was doing great but then for the past couple of weeks has been mostly up and down
I don't personally want to post or read posts of picks that are not very profitable
hopefully cheme will take the burden of posting daily back and his good luck will bring the system back to great profits

I felt bad and did not post yesterday and went 2-1
today I am taking the day off other than some bowl games
