The #8 UNC Tar Heels host Vandy. Coming off of a disappointing loss to Tubby's Gophers, the Heels will be looking for blood this evening. against the Commodores. Vandy has some talent, is the little brother of the usually tough SEC, but not today. At -3.5, this is CLEARLY the play of the day.

rthoughton....the UConn/Wichita St game is being played in Hawaii as part of the Maui Invitational. This is why you originally perceived this game as a head scratcher! UConn has no business being favored here, but the Joe Public has spoken.

Ho hum... another .500 day. Im a little surprised that the Pukies ended up struggling in the second half. Whattaya gonna do?
Today something stuck out to me so Im gonna take a shot here.
Seems like a fairly safe play. With a win at BC and just a 3 point defeat at Providence, Yale can certainly compete. Maybe. Sure, the Illini is head and shoulders above those mentioned, and it's a very difficult environment, but 25 seems like enough.
YALE Bulldogs +25 (@ Illini; prediction: 83-61)

Morehead State +19 @ OSU. (prediction: 75-62 Ohio State.); Morehead has loaded the schedule with big time games, certainly prepping them for a possible trip to the tourney. Coming off a game @ Florida, the Eagles will travel just over 100 miles north to take on the Suckeyes. They won't win, but they can cover.

Providence Friars -5 (v La Salle. prediction: 78-65) Providence takes care of business at home against a much weaker La Salle squad.

Time to make some $$ today. Ill be back with some more picks for today once the lines arrive on all of the games. Especially the UK-Wash game in Maui (among others).

Tonight's play. Time to make some of this shit back.
In the opening round of the NIT season tip off, UCLA travels (senior-less) to NY to take a top 10 Villanova squad. Nova has yet to play any team worth a crap, but has still blown them all out.
UCLA has been great defensively, allowing 54.3 ppg and holding Pacific to 25% shooting. This game seems like a mismatch, probably wont be, but I think Nova covers pretty easily.

And I am absolutely on Kentucky again tonight. Once the line is up, we will add that to the thread. I certainly wish I was just posting the UK games each time, Id be up nicely. ha.
Coach Cal has 5 consecutive 30 win seasons. Which means they dont lose to teams like Portland or Oklahoma.
Another unranked squad steps up tonight, (although they shouldve probably been swapped with UNC preseason... yikes) Kemba Walker is a star, but can they match the overall talent of the Cats? Imagine if UK didnt turn the ball over in so many critical situations, could shoot free throws, or had the discipline to manage the clock... Hopefully they get those things together before they hit March.
