PICKS 11/10

Louisiana Tech at Texas (-21)- 1 Unit

Im taking Texas to cover the spread based on a few factors. I think that having one game under their belt will do wonders for this young/athletic team. As we saw in their first game, they got off to a sluggish start, but picked up the intensity and blew out Navy, who had 4 returning starters and was experienced. La Tech only has 2 guys coming back who played significant minutes. They're going to have a hard time throughout the game, and I look for Texas to get an early start led by Jordan Hamilton and crush La Tech. Texas' speed and athleticism will be far too much for La Tech to handle.

Good start to the season. Texas looked very sloppy, but overmatched the inexperienced La Tech team. Ill have a bunch of picks for Friday once the lines come out.

Tennessee State at Mississippi (-18.5)

Tenn St. loses their leading scorer and second leading rebounder off of a dismal team from last season. They went 9-23 overall and 6-13 in conference and could be worse this season. Miss St. on the contrary has very high expectations with NBA prospect Renardo Sidney ready to play this year, and return their second and third leading scorers last year. Look for miss st at home to get of to a good start and win this game by 30-40.

Doing great so far to start the season man. Although you have hit a couple of your early plays laying heavy chalk, I would advise against laying on such big favorites.

Memphis win, Miami covers. Gotta love it. Both teams looked verrrrrry raw. They're both small and athletic, seems like they were just off as opposed to horrible shooters. I think the teams are very even, and id probably rate Miami higher than Memphis after this gam even with the loss.

I'm now 7-2, all bets are 1 unit, still have St. Johns +5 tnite, and ill post my other picks as soon as i place them. Great start.

St. Johns has a horrible second half and can't cover. Props to st. mary's they didnt play their best and still beat a solid big east team.

Thanks guys. Yea i love sdsu this year, saw there first game against a good long beach state team, and they looked impressive. i think ohio state is a better overall team with more experience then florida. you may be right on my cuse pick, i just like there zone against weaker teams, and think they pull away a lot of times since the weaker teams won't be able to score consistently in the second have. we'll see how macallum does, he is supposed to be great!

Well ohio state just had one of the best second halves ive seen in a WHILEEE for a first week game. They looked incredible and that was with the starting center dallas lauderdale in foul trouble all game. If healthy osu has a LEGIT shot to win it all. I can say that with confidence even this early in the year. I've won that pick to improve my record. OVERALL RECORD 9-3...syracuse pick not lookin good!

Cool...2 for 2 in the early Puerto Rico games. I like West Virginia by far the best out of the 4 teams i saw. They have pieces to have a nice season in the Big East with Kevin Jones, John Flowers, Truck Bryant and Joe Mazulla. They didnt play there best but still controlled a Davidson team that was better than i thought. Vandy reallllly disappointed me. Although they covered, they looked awful and won a foul shooting contest down the stretch to cover. Jeff Taylor looked completely disinterested the entire game, and if not for some contested jumpers by Jon Jenkins they may have lost to a bad Nebraska team. Either way i got both wins so im happy, those are just my thoughts.
