Texas -26 is a solid play
I wouldn't consider this a full unit play because I like to see a team play a few games before-hand but Texas is a GREAT OOC early double digit favorite. Rick Barnes loves to run up the score on teams like Navy and should have no problem doing so tommorow. Last year Navy allowed over 75 PPG against very weak competition (321st in NCAA). Texas lost James and Pittman but IMO Texas' bigs kept them from running and gunning like they should have. Also Damien James wasn't a huge loss, guy hung out around the perimeter way too much for a guy his size. Dogus Balbay returns from injury for Texas and WAS THE REASON why Texas took such a nosedive last year. This guy is an animal defensively and is a true floor general.

According to Ken Pom, Navy played at the 13th fastest pace of any team in college basketball. Texas should have a field day tommorow.

speaking of fast paces, Seattle plays at the 2nd fastest pace of any team in the country. They only lost 1 starter but they also lost a decent contributor from the bench. Maryland lost virtually everybody from last year (Vasquez, Milbourne, and Hayes). These guys aren't going to be that good and I don't think Maryland has the horses to run in a game like Seattle wants. I would strongly consider playing Seattle, but they are pretty bad defensively

Seattle is a very iffy play IMO, they return 3 starters but they play so FAST that anything can happen. I think things should come smoother this year for them as their coach will be in his second year

I think this is the Worst play on the card tomorrow. Texas is way overrated IMO. I hope you win your Texas play though.

Texas was very good last year but without Balbay they were just awful. Navy was terrible last year and Texas is the only team out of the 4 faves playing today that can blow teams out of the water historically. Pitt and Illinois play too slow of a pace to do it unless they just completely have their way and MD is going to be dreadful this year

when you say these teams navy and seattle play at a fast pace-
dont you think their coaches know that to have any chance at all to be in these games theyd have to slow it down?
i mean maybe when they play teams in their own category they can turn up the speed but i would think going into games with teams way over their heads theyd want to run a priceton kinda thing?

I don't think so, Seattle in particular plays at such a fast pace that it would be very ignorant for them to go away from it for just a game or two. Early in the year, I think it's safe to bank on teams running very similar to what they did last year. Looking at Ken Pom's projections, he has Seattle at the third slowest paced team in the NCAA in 2011. That can't be right, either way I'm fading Maryland more than betting on Seattle. Ken likes Texas and Navy to both play a faster than average tempo though. If Texas runs like they will, I see Navy trying to run with them out of pure instinct.
