Nash is the outlier here. My head tells me Ok. State. My heart tells me Baylor.
If you want to read between the lines on a statement, Isaiah Austin (2012 Baylor commit over the summer) said that he's "known where Nash is going for several months now". Hoping that is a sign he knew where Nash would be (i.e. Baylor) and chose his school accordingly.Comment -
...or it could all fall apart when Baylor gets smacked with sanctions for yet ANOTHER dirty coach.Comment -
I would love to see Baylor land all 3 there a great basketball programComment -
And you have proof he is dirty, right? How about an example of any rule Scott Drew has broken?Originally posted by agharah1
The NCAA still has its fist so far up Baylor's ass that it's nearly impossible to be committing violations.Comment -
2 down, 1 to go...Comment -
2/3 ain't bad.Comment -
pretty dam good job by Baylor getting the recruitsComment -
wow Baylor basketball is here to stayComment -
I love Baylors game. Tall and Lanky style of basketball is there Motto! Gets the Job doneComment -
Imagine a lockout that sees everyone staying across college next year...Baylor's 5 will be Perry Jones, Quincy Acy, Quincy Miller, Deuce Bello, and AJ Walton with Anthony Jones/Cory Jefferson/Brady Heslip/Bobo coming off the bench (not including any other 2011 class that we pick up in the interim).Comment -
Baylor is my pick to win the Big 12 this year. K State lost a lot more than people think when they lost Clemente. Kansas is going to be relying on a freshman point guard who has a turnover problem, and that assumes Selby will be cleared...if he isn't then Kansas is left with only one play maker. Missouri will be solid but their talent is nothing close to Baylor's. And the jury is still out on Texas.
Congrats to Baylor on another great recruiting class.Comment -
we'll see on them. don't expect baylor to become the next dynasty overnight.Comment -
They made a deep tournament run last year, I believe they lost to eventual champion Duke. They return their best player from last year (Lacedarius Dunn) and another starter Quincy Acey. Plus they add stud freshman Perry Jones this year... I really don't think a Big12 title is out of the question for this team, especially for a year when Kansas and Texas are both down from their usual dominance.Originally posted by NickS8753Comment -
Correction...Duke was given a Final Four on an obscene charging call.Originally posted by EasyHustlin
Baylor will struggle a little early while AJ Walton gets his legs in place of Tweety Carter. The good news is that he played a ton through the year and got probably 14 min/game through the tourney (as a freshman) so he has great experience to take over at PG. Lace is the best 3 point shooter in the country in my opinion. The kid is straight nails (yet to be determined how long he is out, if any).
If Perry Jones is as good as advertised, losing Udoh won't be an issue. If he plays like every other freshman (save John Wall), then you'll see some defensive drop off from last year but this team is so ridiculously athletic and long that they'll be ok.
And then there is Quincy Acy...the Cookie Monster...YouTube Acy dunk Texas and watch that display from last season. He's a 6' 6" guy that plays like he's 7'.Comment -
If Baylor is able to get these players then look out!Comment -
GU babyComment -
Baylor will still find a way to blow itComment -
True story.Originally posted by mighty maronComment -
just like every team in texas lmaoComment -
This story is outta control... smells very fishy to me. NCAA will take a good long look at Baylor cause these kids have a chance to play at any big time school in the country... why Baylor? Sketchy.Comment -
what is sketchy about playing at Baylor? They are in the Big 12?Originally posted by kjwhite11Comment -
dirty as the day is long. Drew is Calipari liteComment -
His father was fine, but he wasn't going after big time recruits. Will see how it unfolds.Comment -
And you have proof of this?Originally posted by TPowellComment -
The fact that every Big 12 coach called him out on his shady recruiting not a good enough reason for you?Originally posted by bu08usc11Comment -
He sent a flyer asking which coach on it had signed a McDonald's AA...that's not against the rules.Originally posted by TPowell
I guess that's not 'ok' but telling recruit's parents that their children are at risk of being murdered if they go to Waco (in the aftermath of the Dotson scandal) is kosher.
Give me a rule he's broken and then we'll talk.Comment -
guy, why do you think DUKE, UNC, UK, and other powerhouses didn't go after Quincy Miller, a top 5 recruit from NORTH CAROLINA???? This kid is dirty, I shudder to think what would have happened if he came to UL.Comment -
They did...Originally posted by TPowellComment -
really? Pretty sure UK dropped him and UNC NEVER really came calling. Guy you have no clue when it comes to the inner workings of ncaab recruiting obviouslyComment -
Also, Louisville backed off him late in the process. Kid CERTAINLY had a price that most wouldn't payComment -
Kentucky recruited him as did Duke. What I said was not incorrect.Originally posted by TPowell
Louisville only backed off him because he was already gone. Pitino doesn't like to lose recruiting battles...he "backed off".Comment -
UK stopped recruiting him, thats obvious. Outside of Louisville, nobody really wanted him and even UL was in on other players that play his positionComment -
Louisville wasn't in on others until 1) it was clear he was going elsewhere and 2) the kid from Wake expressed interest in UL.Originally posted by TPowell
Duke was in on him until about two weeks before when he canceled his visit.Comment
