I'll take it, even tho Nebraska cost me a lot of money, had parlayed all my plays together, I still ended up nicely ahead on the day... which I cant complain since Tuesday isnt a CBB day.. just were a lot of great lines today

My CBB days, where I look to cash in big, are Wednesday and Saturday

As promised a week or 2 ago, I said I'd give detailed unit bet history... so here it is


6* - 1-0 (+6.00 Units)
5* - 1-1 (-0.50 Units)
4* - 2-2-1 (-0.80 Units)
3* - 11-4 (+19.80 Units)
2* - 15-8-2 (+12.40 Units)
1* - 21-24-1 (-5.40 Units)

2007: 36-29-3, +7.80 Units
2008: 15-10-1, +23.70 Units

Again, my units are larger than others, hence I have not had a unit play over 6 this entire season, tho that could change with conference play starting perhaps... I very easily could have just tacked on a 0 after all my plays and, voila, I'd be up 315 units instead, but I find that to be deceitful... play my units as however you want, but I believe in making my unit size larger, and keeping the total units bet down lower...

Glad I can help people win, as I win... once NCAA basketball ends I'll focus on the NBA for a bit, then maybe baseball... tho not sure if I'll post my NBA, MLB or other sport plays on SBR, may just keep them over at the HQ, or the Bat Cave as everyone there refers to it

Astro's da man, he knows his stuff. I'd stay away from the Dayton game though.. They got a tough matchup and although I think they'll win, idk about covering the spread.. This game looks good for an over though

Can somebody explain units to me? I thought one unit is your standard bet and when you double your money up on a bet, that is like 1.5 or even 2 units, am I right or have at least the idea correct?

Thats correct, I use $200 as my unit size, most people use $100 or less tho

But really doesnt matter who everyone uses, if you use $10 that is fine, it's a set amount

hey thanks Astro for the explanation that is what I thougth just wasnt sure. I started with small deposit on one book so my units typically are between $25 and $100 bet so what is a good way to explain mine when I put my bets down? like $25 is one unit, 2 units $50 etc?

I got 2 units on Drake tonight with you so lets cash in that one, thinking about doing CS game too... goodluck with rest of your pics

Wow... took a beat down today, but thats why its a marathon and not a sprint

All of the games were very close, except the game I won with VCU, Drake winning by 1, Daytom/UMass ending with 153 points I think it was, Northridge being up 9 with 40 seconds left but winning by 6, Ole Miss with a 2 point W, MidTenn/Troy wasnt close actually, I think Troy posted their lowest score of the season (figures), Tulsa losing in OT, Virginia losing in OT

Oh well, move on to tomorrow... havent looked at the games yet but will get them up before they start

Theres no reason to take WSU, WVU and Nevada out... they arent going to lose and even at horrible odds they still improve the odds of the parlay... would be completely pointless to take em out

For parlays I just use my top games, dont really look for anything in particular

For teasers I never, NEVER, EVER tease the total... it loses its value... if you get a 10 point teaser, teasing the total makes it lose its value... for instance if you tease a 10 point favorite to PK, then only 1 out of every 2 possessions will hurt your chances of them not covering, if you tease the total every possession is a chance to hurt the over or under

I also rarely tease teams to get them in the range of 3-6 points, give or take... that is because those numbers easily can result in being backdoored by free throws late as the team you have that is +4 is down 3 with 10 seconds left and needs the ball, they foul and end up losing by 5
