Being a Butler grad this might be somewhat bias but I believe that the championship game last night was one for the ages. In todays world and sports, we all want to be entertained....in sports more often than not...it is with offense. Last nights game was much different than that. I believed that the game was very entertaining but had little offense.....because of such great defense by both teams. Defense carried Butler to the championship game and kept them in the game when nobody thought that they could.
Duke is a fantastic TEAM as is Butler. In my opinion, I love seeing great TEAMS win these days then great individual players. Great players bring the offense that is entertaining but great TEAMS is what makes the world so successful. The top companies, the best families, the best schools, etc...all operate as great TEAMS. I believe that the world has gotten away from the TEAM concept and become more focused on individual successes while rooting against great TEAMS. People hate Duke and their program because they are a successful TEAM. Hopefully some day Butler will continue to maintain the success of a great TEAM that Duke has and become a TEAM that this society...sorry to say...will grow to hate.
Last nights game was one for the ages. Two great TEAMS that worked together to accomplish a unified goal. One got it and the other did not. It still makes both TEAMS winners in my book.
