The 09 final is curiously similar to this year's.

Last year, it was UNC -7.5. This year, it will be the same, or within a point.

Last year, MSU was a quasi "big" dog going into the FF playing on a de facto, virtual HC. This year, Butler is in the same exact position.

Will Butler fade like MSU 09 while Duke fulfills its destiny a la UNC?

I don't know, boys, it seems like Duke is on a mission here....And it's almost hard to believe Butler will keep this thing going and take down another giant after already Cuse, KState, and MSU.

I think duke has proven to the critics & haters who the best #1 seed is. They have been disrespected all season. I think they roll

Don't you think Butler has sort of a home field advantage, with them being from Indiana, and Lucas Oil being the venue?

Im sure it helps them a little but what % of the fans at the final four are locals? Those tickets are expensive as shit and people come from all over for the final four. Its not like their student body is there. Butler is a helluva squad but im not sure if they have the fire power to win this one.

Duke has been very solid, but it will be a tricky game. I wll probably skip betting the final.

It didn't help Michigan State playing in Detroit last year. Not as close as Butler is playing in Indianapolis, but still a virtual home game for the Spartans none the less.

Bob Knight thinks Butler may be at a DISADVANTAGE playing that close to home because they won't be able to hide from the distractions. He said he would hate to play a Final Four that close to campus, and I trust him to know what he is talking about when it comes to this stuff. But, it sure didn't seem to effect them last night.
