Penn, even though they had a terrible record, is not as bad as the record indicates and can be competitive at times, if I recall they played Duke tough on the road for a half of basketball before getting ran out of the gym.

Cornell looked ahead, was on the road, and Penn finally put an entire game together.

It was 58-29 in first half against Duke. Penn didnt beat a team ranked higher than 253 other than Cornell and happened to beat Cornell worse than they beat any team this year, by 15.

As I put it "if I recall" guess I must have been thinking of another club that played Duke tough at home for one half and then bowed out. It was a conference game and regardless of what conference you play in, the possibility for upsets always exists, regardless if its the last place club vs the first place club.

            Because NC St. outscored them?

              Homecourt? Conference game?

Cornell is good. A lot of people knew they were slighted and under-seeded. But they were also given teams that match up well with them. I don't think they can handle Kentucky's style of play. The great equalizer will have to be Kentucky's youth, and there's no guarantee they'll panic.

These are college kids so anything can happen. Cornel is for real but Kentucky is really hitting on all cylenders right now. It's a tough call but 9 seems reasonable to stay within though!

They are all college kids, lets not talk about "youth" when were talking the difference of 19 & 21 year old kids. The team with the "inexperience" has 2 kids that will be playing in the NBA this time next year. The "ol'timers" will be taking out your appendix & mediating your bankruptcy from betting everything you have on them

Penn had their best shooting night of the season and hit 11 of 21 of their 3's.

It seems to me that there are just some games sometimes in this sport that just do not make any sense. Didn't see this game but I would assume it was just an off night for them. That being said, I will cheer for Cornell but Kentucky just looks too dominating for a team like this to beat them.

It happens. If you look hard enough, you'll probably find at least one result during the regular season for every team that doesn't make sense. It is not a big deal.

A lot has to go right for Cornell to have a chance.

On any given night luck plays a huge factor. In any sport you have played, some nights you are on, some nights you are off.

Also, while I am sure Cornell tried their best, some times good team underestimate weak opponents and get caught up guard. Especially in the regular season.
