I agree that Northern Iowa is a better team than Cornell.

If you're backing Kentucky, you'd better hope it's not a close game because the Wildcats rank only 224th in free-throw percentage. Also keep in mind that only two Division I teams make more three-pointers per game than Cornell.

Kentucky should win as long as it does not come down to free throws at the end.

This it a classic youth vs experience , Kentucky is mostly composed of all freshman with a boat load of talent and speed while Cornell has basicly all seniors and obviously has an advantage in the mental aspects of the game, should be a good 1

I've been burned by this my whole life, worked pretty well for me in Cornell's last two games though.

No, not at all. But if you think Cornell has gone 29-4 by accident, you need to dig a little deeper.
In fact, Cornell could have won both AT Syracuse and AT Kansas. In these games, Syracuse shot more than twice as many free throws, 28-12, and got outrebounded by the little Ivy Leaguers. The FT disparity was even greater for Kansas, 36-14, and the rebounding was dead even. Cornell has won more games away from home than any team in the country.
I'm not saying it's going to beat Kentucky, but I am saying what it has accomplished so far this season is no fluke.

i can't understand how anyone could side with kentucky in this situation, i would think it'd have to be cornell or no play. taking kentucky is just way to risky seeing what cornell just did to temple and wisky... with kentucky's tendency to be sloppy with the ball and their youth absolutely plays to the seniority at cornell

Cornell shot something like 65% combine in the first 2 games of the tournament against good defense teams.
Either you think Cornell is that good, or you think they were just lucky/hot for a weekend. I'm leaning towards the latter.

I think Cornell has had a nice little run and a great story! I am a fan. I just think they are going to realize oh shit... we made it to the sweet sixteen and now we have to face arguably... not sure how to spell that because I did not go to Cornell, the best team left in the tourny! I think Kentucky is going to kick the shit out of them. How do you beat Kentucky with only I think two black kids on your team.

Dont think these were ridiculous upsets. They wer 3.5-4.5 spreads.
Jim Behiem said that Cornell almost beat them when all this kids were juniors last year. Regarding this year's game, he said on ESPN radio yesterday, "I expected to lose" but Cornell just had a rare off shooting night.
Cornell is good as they proved in the first two rounds. They probably should have been a 4 or 5 seed. If they have a poor shooting night, they may lose by DD, but they probably wont because thy are a very good shooting team.

No way Cornell should be a 12th seed. Cornell should have been playing in a 8 versus 9 game. I still do not think they can beat kentucky but may be they can.

Lets just all root for the mid major final four just to stick it to the BCS comittees who continually pit Mid majors against each other so as not to embarass their little club.
Boise -TCU
Temple/Cornell
N.Iowa/UNLV
St Mary's/richmond
All 6 teams could have won a 1st round game.
N.Iowa is a solid team as is cornell. They have a definite shot of pulling off the upsets.
BUTLER, N.Iowa, Cornell and St mary's to the final 4..haha!!
