Ohio for Saturday

yeah, I am putting them in a parlay to take the game on the ML, just a little $6 bet to win $700, my parlay consists of

1. Charlotte Bobcats +21
2. Dallas Mavericks -1
3. Nova ML
4. Ohio ML
5. Baylor ML
6. Kentucky -8
7. K-State -3
8. Kansas -4
9. Mississippi State ML
10. Butler ML
11. Rafael Nadal ML

wow. The only questionable pick in there is the Ohio ML.

Hard to defend against a team that hits 58%, mostly 3's. I'll take the OHIO BOBCATS plus 8 and 1/2!

Ohio plus 8.5 is a very solid bet. We don't beat many teams by more than that, especially under pressure.

I watch every game we play, including exhibitions. Take Ohio +8.5.

I don't think Ohio will win the game, but it will be tight.

good thoughts. always nice to see a fan who doesn't blindly back his team.

i'm on OU and was also thinking about 1H under. UT plays that shoot in 5 seconds or 30 seconds style, and i don't think they'll open it up here after watching OU drop nearly 100 on Gtown. Vols are pretty consistent on defense. OU gets a lot of points at the line and was blistering from 3 Thursday, but Gtown is way overrated defensively this season, and UT will give less dumb bail-out fouls and defends the 3 very well. don't want to touch game under given chance of elimination game FTs at the end, but if Vols play solid defense and normal slowdown style 1H, 1H under 65' also seems worth a look. any thoughts on that?

I am a Vols fan

My initial thought when I saw the opening line was Ohio +8.5 looked like the right side. I don't know if I will play it, but that was my initial thought.

I definitely wouldn't be on Ohio ML, but it wouldn't totally surprise me to see them win.

BT, I also would lean the under more than the over.

I expect them to play a slow down game and like you said they defend the 3 well and play good D in general.

I don't think they want to get into a run and gun shootout with a team that shoots 3s so well.

There is definitely the potential for that.

If the UT team shows up that can play with anyone in the country then I like the chances. If that team doesn't show up it could be a nail biter.

I just hope they win. I was not expecting the sweet 16 until Georgetown went down. Now I am fairly optimistic.

people are giving ohio way too much credit--they were a 8 or 9 seed in the mac! Yes they beat Gtown OR did they? Gtown was very inconsistent and obviously did not show up. Ohio will not take Tenny by surprise and Tenny will bring their A game--they should cover this easy.

Teams only shoot 29% from behind the arc against UT. They defend the 3 very well. Their bigs really move their feet and they will be switching on all ball screens. Can't see Ohio winning this game, but sure won't be laying 8.5.

I've seen OU play (as well as much of the MAC schools). How they won the MAC Tournament was beyond me. The best team bowed out early in the MAC (Kent) IMO. While it would be a big boost to the MAC I just don't see them hanging on.

Tennessee has a lot of swagger and go on big runs at home, but they most often look lost when they're away from home. Maybe they cover, but I think 8 pts for Ohio (with all the confidence they have after destroying Georgetown) is a great value. I know it's bad form to talk about bets after the games have started, but I parlayed St. Mary's (currently up by one with 2:40 left) and Ohio moneylines. Maybe a stupid bet, but huge payout if it hits, and it just seemed like a good value on both.

UT, by nature, is not a fast starting team. We struggle with what some fans see as "motivation" and don't seem to get out well. I would take the under in the first half and wouldn't look back.

For me, the best bet of the first half is Ohio +4.5. Ohio runs a lot of ball screens to get jumpers and we are flat terrible at defending the ball screen. Against a standard offense, we defend the perimeter well, but ball screens give us fits. Bruce will have to make adjustments at halftime to that and I believe he will.

Take Ohio +4.5 and the 1st half under and I think you'll win them both.
