The more I think about this, the more I lean towards Florida. Looking through all of the teams BYU has played, NOT ONE has had big guys that were athletic like the ones that Florida has in Tyus and Macklin. I think Boynton and Walker may be able to hang with the BYU guards as well. These guys weren't VERY HIGHLY recruited prospects for nothing. At +5, I like Florida more and more as I think about it

This whole MWC is being talked up. Im not impressed with any. New Mexico, could be the biggest fraud of em all. Im going to have to disagree with Florida Coach Donovan in his press conference today. He said they had played vs. good guards in the SEC such as Wall and Downey, but Fredette will be the biggest playmaker of em all. Hell, you putt Wall and Downey in the MWC, they would average 30 points a game.Comment -

i know its square but i feel the committee really hooked BYU up in this 1, gave them a team that arguably doesnt deserve to be here and if they do certainly should have been seeded 11 or 12(no damn way they deserved a better seed than UTEP imo), make it a game that should feel early as hell for the fla kids... i agree fla athletes down low could be problem but hands down BYU guards should own this game....BYU's year to get out of the 1st round all the cards have aligned....plus the way i see it if the squares hit a early 1 so what, they will give it all back rest of the weekendComment -

I have to agree with 2daBank. I don't think FLA even deserves to be there, and after watching BYU a few times this year I see them winning this game for sure and probably covering. Florida should have been playing Wednesday night, not Thursday.Comment -
byu is a high octane team. gators can get in trouble if byu is wetting up threes and they try to keep up by attempting to mimic their style. byu has better shooters, florida has better paint presences. i think this will be a pretty close game. i think florida will probably win this game also but it should be closeComment -

The Gators have struggled with up tempo teams this year, and they struggle even worse with good 3PT shooting teams. They have lost 4 of 5 and if you look at those losses you'll see that they are allowing every team to shoot the 3 ball effectively including those not known for the 3. MSST shot 50% from deep making 10, UK shot 44% from deep making 8, Vandy shot 50% from deep making 10, and UGA shot only 34% but made 7. And its been like this for most of the year (i.e. Earlier this season they lost to UK, @Vandy, S. Al, and Richmond, and all these teams made at least 7 threes). Now imagine what BYU and Fredette are going to do with that perimeter defense... I like BYU in this one.Comment -
