I like this Loyola-Marymount team more on the road than I do at home but at the same time, not a big fan of this Pacific club either. I really have not looked into it but I'll take some time later to cap it in depth and give you my opinion on the game.

I'm really liking LM. Also Troy and Morehead State. Possibly Weber State as well, though I'm worried about how they'll bounce back from the Montana debacle.

yeah just noticed it moved to 7 at 1 book but I don't think the others will follow suit, they may, but actually think this one might close at 6

i'm comfortable with the 6.5 because I think this is a tight game and would not be surprised to see the Seawolves pull the outright upset

Illinois is going to be a huge public play, because most people don't even know what a "Stony Brook" is. This has trap written all over it. SB doesn't have any big-time wins, but they've only lost once at home this year and I can see them easily covering the 7 against an Illini team that will probably be as disinterested and overconfident as the public backing them.

Hit my 2 descent sized units, original plays on Northeastern and William and Mary but did not do as hot with my added, regular plays, but still produced a winning night and in the end that is all that matters. Looking to make it 6 winning weeks out of the last 7 weeks with a winning week this week and also very excited that the post season tournaments have gotten under way; best time of the year for us college hoops bettors.

Wednesday's Play

Stony Brook +6.5 4U

You may want to wait on this one, but I would advise just grabbing the 6.5 because the ways it has been going, I would not be surprised if this one drops to 6 by tip.

Stony Brook

The Seawolves won the America East Conference regular season title with a 14-4 conference mark. They produced an overall mark of 22-9 but what is more impressive is that they went 12-1 on their home court, including a current 9 game home winning streak. They average just over 70 points per game at home this season on 44 percent shooting from the field, 41 percent from deep, and 69 percent from the line. I rarely I'm thrilled about backing a team that likes the three ball, but they are at home (where they have proven over a 13 game stretch that they shot it lights out from behind the arc) and after all, this is not the Michigan Wolverines who can't hit but continue to chuck it anyways. On the defensive end, they average 62 against at home on 41 percent from the field, 36 percent from deep, and 71 percent from the line. The 62 against is a solid number IMO especially since opponents have shot fairly well from the line, 71 percent, so this number is a little better than what it shows. I know this is a school from a smaller conference playing a Big 10 school but this team is impressive at home and can shot lights out from behind the arc so catching a generous number like 6.5 is too much for me to not jump on the home Seawolves in this spot. In addition, I would not be surprised if they win this one outright if they get off to a good start against the visiting Illini but I will just play the number and be happy with the winning ticket.

Illini

The Fighting Illini went 19-14 overall and just 6-5 on the road; it amazes me that they only played 11 total away games all season. IMO this is a dumb move by any D1 club because if it happens you are on the bubble, you are going to be the first one thrown out because of your lack of road contests. Not that the Illini had anything to worry about because they were not anywhere close to the bubble and not sure how much fight is left in the Fighting Illini, but still not a wise move by the coaching staff. And to think Head Coach Weber had the nerve to basically pout on ESPN about being left out when he should have been pointing the finger at himself for lack of scheduling road games, lesson learned. On to the stats, the Illini average 65 per game on the road on 45 percent shooting from the field, 33 percent from deep, and 69 percent from the line. On the D side, they allow an average of 66 per game on 38 percent shooting from the field, 33 from deep, and 70 from the line. This club has to play solid defense because they have trouble scoring and they have struggled mightily in their last 5 only averaging 62 per game and allowing close to 70 per game. I know they're the bigger named school but I feel they will be in for a rude awakening come tonight when they face a tough home team in the Seawolves.

Well that's all I got for now and should note that my big play for the first round of the NCAA Tourney is Wofford +10 and will have a write-up for it tomorrow night.
