Temple vs Siena
PHILADELPHIA -- Juan Fernandez scored a career-high 20 points and Ramone Moore scored 12 of his career-high 16 points in the second half as Temple rallied from a six-point halftime deficit to beat Siena 73-69 on Saturday night.
Temple (2-1) struggled to find consistency on the offensive side of the floor throughout the first half and trailed Siena (2-1) by as many as eight points.
Temple was a different team out of the break.
The Owls used a 13-0 run early in the second half to take a 49-43 lead on Micheal Eric's layup with 11:38 left in the game. Ryan Brooks hit a pair of free throws with 13:18 left in the game to give the Owls their first lead since 6-4 just 3:40 into the first half.
Eric scored a career-high 12 points.
The Saints had a final chance to tie the game, but turned the ball over with 1.2 left in the game.
Alex Franklin scored 22 points for Siena.
Georgia Tech vs Siena
ATLANTA -- Freshman Mfon Udofia scored a career-high 26 points and Georgia Tech (No. 23 ESPN/USA Today) beat Siena 74-61 on Wednesday night.
Derrick Favors, who is also a freshman, finished with 16 points and eight rebounds for the Yellow Jackets (5-1), winners of four straight. Gani Lawal added 15 points and nine rebounds.
Clarence Jackson led Siena (4-3) with 19 points. The Saints, who have dropped two of three, never led and had no other players score in double figures.
Udofia, a point guard from nearby Miller Grove High School in Stone Mountain, also had seven rebounds. His 10-foot runner with 4:06 remaining gave Georgia Tech a 68-54 lead.
Favors, a 6-foot-10 forward from nearby South Atlanta High, hit a layup to put the Yellow Jackets up 54-47 with 8:44 left in the game
St.Johns vs Siena
PHILADELPHIA -- D.J. Kennedy scored 23 points to lead St. John's to a 77-68 victory over Siena in the Philly Hoop Group Classic on Friday night.
Kennedy shot 8-for-12 from the field while also adding six rebounds and five assists for the Red Storm (4-0). Dwight Hardy also chipped in with 13 points.
After a layup from Siena's Ryan Rossiter cut the Red Storm lead to 52-51 with 9:44 remaining, St. John's went on a 10-2 run to take a 62-53 lead with 6:12 left in the game. The Red Storm would go on to lead by as many as 12 points after a free throw from Kennedy made the score 76-64 with 35 seconds remaining.
The Saints (3-2) were paced by Rossiter, who scored 24 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Ronald Moore and Alex Franklin chipped in with 11 point apiece.
St. John's shot 51.7 percent from the field (30-for-58) and had 18 assists.
But I noticed that Siena shot god awful from the 3 in all of those games. They dont shoot the 3 ball very well only averaging 32% on the year but they werent putting that up even
