Name one quality, NCAA-level team they've beaten this year.
One.

Is Hasbrouck coming back this week? If so, I didn't get that memo.

Wouldn't that have been the same argument against them last year? They beat Northern Iowa late in the year in a bracket buster, but otherwise didn't have your so-called "big name" win.

UNI stomped them this year.
Butler stomped them this year.
This Siena team isn't nearly as good as last season's.

And Purdue isn't as good as they were with Hummel. Arguments on both sides. I wouldn't bet this game with stolen money because it is by far I believe going to be the most heavily bet in the 1st round.

It's one game. If Siena have their day in the sun, they can get the W.

Purdue is soooo bad without Hummel, I can't see how anyone has them getting to the Sweet 16, let alone surviving the first round.

It's more about Purdue than Siena, as I'm sure you know. Hummell was their Lebron/Kobe/whoever, whole offense was built around him. Siena will smell blood and is more than capable.
Now, it's possible that Purdue hears so much about how they're gonna get bounced that it has a galvanizing effect on them and they end up rolling. But if I have to pick a 13 beating a 4, it sure as heck is this one!

Exactly. People are looking to fade Purdue because they are a lot different than the team that put together a quality season to net them a higher seed.
They're more like the quality of an 8 or 9 seed without Hummel.
Silly first post. Obviously you know Siena played in a poor conference and scheduled several tough OOC games and did not win them. They did give Temple a good game on the road and they're not an awful team. They're about a typical 12 seed. I would expect them to lose in the next round if they beat Purdue. No one is making them out to be a title contender.
Since the Hummel injury was so high profile and lots of people are jumping on the fade Purdue bandwagon, I'm not sure there's much value in the line. Purdue is only -4. I think the fair line would be about -5.5.

Just remember MAAC teams have a small number of victories in tournament. Last two of them were Niagara in the 64/65 game and Siena in First Round. (I believe these are the only ones, but I have no proof of that)

Guys, this is march madness, the past is history. Anyteam can beat anyone on any given night, especially in March. This tournament brings the best out of teams. Doesnt matter who you beat in the season. All comes down to this one game.

In 1989, Siena got an at large as a #14 and beat #3 Stanford.
MAAC champs
In 1990, La Salle won their first round game (as a #4 seed).
In 1995, #13 Manhattan beat #4 Oklahoma.
In 2002, Siena won the play-in game but that only landed them a #16 seed, of course.
In 2004, #12 Manhattan blew out #5 Florida.
In 2007, Niagara won the play-in game.
In 2008, Siena blew out #4 Vanderbilt.
In 2009, Siena beat #8 Ohio State

I feel like every1 will have siena upsetting purdue in their brackets..why not take a chance on Purdue here..I mean siena hasnt really shocked me this year, and coming from a school thats in the MAAC Ive had a chance to see them play on numerous occasions..I hoenstly think wiht evry1 having siena in their bracks, this wudnt rly be an upset if you have siena moving on, and either way Im having siena/purdue losing int eh nxt round..IMO take a chance on purdue and hope that kramer etc. can pull it together

I like Siena to pull the upset but not because they have done it the past two years. This is more of a Purdue fade for me. Purdue is bad without Hummel, all teams have to do is pay extra attention to Moore and Purdue is in trouble. They can't score without a player like Hummel.

The committee dropped Purdue from what would've been at least a 3 or maybe a 2 because of the Hummel injury.
With him, they had a top 6 season.
Without him, they're still the quality of a typical 8-10 seed, IMO.
This is what they did after the injury:
vs. Mich State: 44-53
vs. Indiana: 74-55
at Penn State: 64-60
neutral court vs. Northwestern: 69-61
neutral vs. Minnesota: 42-69
Aside from a terrible game against Minnesota, they look like a solid team that would receive an at large bid if played out over a full season.

This post. Everyone is saying how bad they have played. Look at that record and tell me its that bad. Throw out the Minnesota game, you cant judge a team by one game in a conference tourney. Purdue wins.

The X-Factor in this game is gonna be
Chris Kramer he is the KEY to Purdue winning this game and im sure he realizes it. Im leaning Siena but I might bail on this game anyways and just do a 2nd half bet if possible
