    How to Hedge Minnesota
Afternoon all, I am new here and have been very impressed with the advice given on these forums.

I took that advice and laid 50 on Minn to win the tourney at +2300. I was hoping the showing against Purdue would put them at least even money with OSU so I could hedge in the middle and have a guaranteed payday but I don't think its worth it at -170.

    My hedge options

    1. Take the guaranteed payout and book Ohio State -170
    2. Put 500 on OSU 1st half and if Minnesota is winning I lose the bet but I should get a good hedge on the final
    3. Since I have an available live play - let it ride and hope Minnesota gets out to a good lead and I can hedge at even money
    4. Use another game (like Kentucky who I think is a lock to win by 3 but not necessarily cover 7) and do a 2 team teaser at even money

    Advice?

It looks o.k...this game will be interesting. Minny has done a lot to help their case, we'll see what happens. Good luck!!

don't tease...bad idea. No such thing as a lock...I say you gotta go with Ohio State -170, or maybe the 1H bet.

DEFINATELY go with the Ohio State ML option. Do the true hedge and come out making a solid grand and some change. I mean I dont know your financial situation but if it was me thats what I would do. I ABSOLUTELY would not do the tease idea. I dont really like the OSU 1H option either. I would lean with the live action or the OSU ML hedge.

Take Ohio St. ML. The only way to play.

If you get lucky, maybe Ohio St. is down by 3 at Halftime. Then the books till favor them by 3.5, which is pretty much to win the game. You could get down on Ohio St at the -110 level.

If you want to hedge, take the Ohio State ML. Anything else isn't a hedge, it's a gamble.

I do see Ohio State -170 or -180 as excellent value anyway. Minnesota isn't nearly the same calibre. Cinderella lost her slipper.

If you laid $170 OSU ML, you would make a solid $50 if OSU wins.

In my opinion Minny wins this thing, and you are celebrating

You stand to win or gain $1150 as it stands now, that's a descent chunk of coin, so I would suggest hedging to win at least $500 profit. It may make you a little pissed of if the Gophers end up winning and you could have had $1150 profit but think how you'll fill if they don't when you could have guaranteed yourself at least $400 profit off an original $25 investment, still not a bad payday. Always take the sure money when you can in this business because it doesn't happen daily. Good luck with what you decide buddy.

                  My suggestion

current bet - Minny ML +2300 $50 to win $1150

proposed bet - OSU ML (-170) $680 to win $400

If Minny wins you make a profit of $470

If OSU wins you make a profit of $350

Both not bad with only an original investment of $25

Good luck with what you decide to play.

Great advice all, thank you very much. I chose to ride the Live lines a bit and hope for a big Minn start. Hopefully I can get a hedge in at some point for -130 or so.

Lost a few $$'s but got a hedge in near the end of the first half for -210, still won 420 which isnt too bad from a 50 play.
