I agree in basketball because your legs are the first thing to go and they are most important for jump shots, so this is an important element to factor in when teams are playing their third contest in a three day span. With college hockey, we rarely played three game sets over a weekend in college, usually only 2 per week but I played my fair share of 3 game sets in juniors (16-20 years old) and it did not effect me in the least bit. I really think that after you turn 21, 22 that's when it takes the body a little longer to recover but when you're only 18, 19, and even 20, it is easy to play 3 games in 3 days. However, like I said this is basketball and you need your legs the most for jump shots so this angle cannot be overlooked.
