There is just 10x more talent to spread around to the 347 D-1 teams than there was in 1985.

gap between #1 and #65 has decreased but all in all, alot better teams gonna be in this year's tourney, that years where flukey underdogs won the small conference tourney's and got into the dance over much more deserving teams

You do know that a 16-seed has NEVER won an NCAA Tournament game straight up right? (not counting the Tuesday play-in games)

there have been a handful of 1,2,3,4 point games, an OT ect. I think Princeton should have beat Georgetown when I was a kid. They lost by 1, but they didn't call a foul on georgetown that they should have.

I think we will see a #16 beat a #1 in the next 5-10 years if not sooner. due to the growing talent pool in the US and other countries to recruit from. AND that a lot of #1 seeds under the current 1 year freshmen rental rules, will be teams like Kentucky with alot of raw talent... BUT that will have little experience and NO post-season experience. going up against a well coached system team with a bunch of over achieving seniors. that happen to hit 15-28 from 3 point land in some game.

gotta love amateur sports....even though college bb and fb at the big time level are barely amateur anymore. that is what makes the tourney's so fun to watch..

who can't enjoy rooting for the 6'0 20 inch vertical having white guy that graduated undergrad in 3.5 years and is working on his masters in business, already has a job lined up. will never play at another level, and is playing his heart out as a 16,15,14,or 13 seed in most likely his last game ever.

going up against 3-5 future NBA players that will make millions.... he is laying it all out there for the love of the game.

I was talking about this yesterday with my friends. I enjoy people playing when they are playing for the love of the game and not themselves or their salary. Hard to find that in the NBA, maybe nash? But in CBB You can find some guys like you said that just wanna play some ball and are damn good at it, but like you said won't step foot on David Sterns floor of entertainment.

NBA is and always will be a joke. If they were playing in my back yard, I would shut the blinds. The tourney is always interesting. Kansas and Kentucky have wowed us all year, but somebody else will cut down the nets. The year for a bad team to win it. Bad as in, lost a lot of regular season games or finished lower than 2nd in their conference.
