thanks a lot for your thoughts, 2da. yeah, the more i look at it, the more i like the over more than the Terps. favorites have such a poor history in the ACC tourney, it's hard to overlook. i'd like the over better if 76% of the public weren't on it, though that's not as big of a deal with totals so long as no RLM.

also, i was going to play Marquette, but can't pull the trigger on that one either. you're right about Georgetown's size. their 3-point defense is good enough to contain Marquette, and if it does, the Warriors have few options. love this Marquette team, though.

total is crazy i got it at right around 150 kenpom has it even a little higher not sure what to make of it being set so low...obviously we not the only ones that notice this shit

i have Lafayette/Lehigh in the low 130s. i'll admit that i don't know much about these teams, but take a look at the scores for both in their first two conf tourney games - all 4 went well under this total. also, other than their last meeting (Lehigh lost 90-75 at Lafayette), their previous four meetings were similarly low-scoring. Lehigh is the better team, and is going to want to slow things down as it did in home win vs Lafayette earlier this year. in my experience, when two teams that are slow-paced get together (roughly 55 shots/game or less) in an important game like this, they tend to slow things down. instead of 68-70 possessions, thinking more like 65.

i will readily admit that i'm breaking one of my own rules here: never take the under with a team with PomDef number over 103. both of these teams are above 103. however, i think that those numbers come from a regular season that arguably has very little to do with this game - winner is in the NCAA tourney, and these kids will be gripping and pulling the string all night, and whatever team has a lead in the final 10 minutes is gonna slow it way down. also, that is a rule made from bad experiences playing better teams.

at least, that's what i hope. the Contrarian would love this reasoning. and i just couldn't get on-board with WMU/Akron under even though i wanted too.
