Thoughts on Syracuse #1 in nation?
These kids definitely deserve to be #1 in the nation. They are going to be very hard to stop. They play very solid defense, and can run with any one. This team will make a run in the tournament and I would not be surprised to see them as national champions at the end of the year!

    Thanks, BigPapa

honestly i dont even look at rankings ever...i flipped my damn lid when i realized today that Mizzou wasnt ranked....rankings are a joke, the only rankings i go by are mine and kenpom........i mean seriously what number is Butler? they are better than Mizzou? please...Mizzou just a great example im sure there are more but seeing as i dont even know who is ranked what they my only example....but how da hell is the 2nd or 3rd best team in the big-12(probably the best conf this year) not ranked but butler is? put them in the big-12 see what happens to them

talent wise UK yes but as far as them making final 4 i dont see it...im thinking sweet 16 exit elite 8 at best depending on mach-ups....Mich st just not the same, Purdue was there but w/o Hummel i think they are doomed

I would definitely say the Big East is the best conference Bank... my 1 seeds would be Syracuse(their zone is so good and so fast at rotating), UK (even though i think they will have the best chance of losing first), Kansas(I think they have alot of talent they just don't seem to put it all together), and probably Duke or K-State.... I think the Cuse have to be the favorite come tourny time because of their zone and a legit 7 starters. That is unless they hit foul trouble but they can still survive even if Johnson doesn't play good.

Honestly i think N.Iowa could handle most those teams you listed if you put them in the crap-10 this year i bet they be doing as well as cal...it not pretty and they not gonna blow the other MVC teams out but that is a tough conf and they all know each other well, thats why i almost always take the points in that conf....seriously though N.Iowa with there tempo and defense could really cause a team or two problems....if they played USC the total would have to be like 90

i knew i would get that but while i believe its close this year i think big-12 is slightly better they got so many teams high up in the rpi its not even funny.....down year for big east g-town is sketchy, Nova while a good team are not as good as last year, Cuse is great no doubt, Lou well is Lou, ucon not that good.....ill put Ku, k-st, Miz, Baylor, A&M up against anyone top 5 this year....not many years i can win this argument but think big-12 got it this year

Match-ups will be huge this year i actually wouldnt be surprised to see a pretty high seed crash the final 4

Going to be a great tourny! How awesome are the kids from Le Moyne feeling right now? Sure, they're only 18-9 vs d2 teams but they are 1-0 vs the potential #1 team Syracuse even if it was only an exhibition game! What a wake up call for Syracuse having only lost 2 games (both in conference) since that exhibition lost... Syracuse may want to thank Le Moyne when it's all said and done.

of coarse not...to me its there defense that makes them a legit contender as they are all so long and very active in that zone, this team may play the 2-3 better than anyone ive seen play it past or present

If tonight's game were played at Villanova, it would have been an entirely different story. Until a team proves they can win a tough game on the road, I won't believe they can win 6 tough games in a row on a neutral court to claim the title. Syracuse has yet to prove they can win the tough one on the road. They were hammered at Pitt and lost at home to Louisville. They can be beaten and I don't believe they have what it takes to last 6 games. Don't be suprised to see someone come from out of nowhere this year to wi it all.

if they were in Nova it may have been closer but it doesnt change the match-up problems nova has with this team that were obvious going in.....team out of no where isnt gonna win it, i think a lower seed or two may crash the elite 8 and maybe 1 in the final 4 but there only a handful of teams that got a real legit shot at winning it all

We deserve number 1, should be number 1 but wouldn't be surprised to see us at 2. Dont care though, what a game to be at.

I don`t think Jim Boeheim likes his teams being ranked No. 1. Don`t know if it is the distraction or having every team "gunning" for them or what, but pretty certain he does not care for it. When `Cuse won the National Championship in 2003, they were a No 3 seed. Think he prefers the spotlight elsewhere. I hope not to answer the Q.

If I had a vote today it would be Syracuse and then Kansas, and I'd put Kentucky there and probably Purdue fourth, realizing the Purdue without its best player is probably headed for some slippage. All this means very little, however. It would take something dramatic for SU, KU and UK to lose their 1 seeds.
