Beware of Uconn playing in the XL center
they don't play very well here. almost all of their home losses occur when they play at the XL center in hartford, rather than on campus in the Harry A. Gampel Pavillion.

in fact they haven't lost at home in the Pavillion the past 3 seasons

and going back the past 7 seasons Uconn has a total of 15 home losses. 13 of them occurred at the XL center.

lots of unknown factors for this game, so its pretty much a no play. but if you were thinking of playing Uconn ML...... I would urge you to consider making it a no play too

I never realized why they play some of their home games at Hartford because it puts them at such a disadvantage. I always remembered driving through their campus in Storrs on the bus to get to the ice rink and the basketball arena is quite a sight. Plus the fan support has to lack big time in Hartford compared to playing in Storrs.

            $ and seating capacity/quality

it does suck for the team and Calhoun though, since they suck there. Pitt and Providence in particular seem to own the XL

XL Center seats more and has a smaller student section so more seats for donors...

Big huskies fan here...although uconn has been awfully unpredictable its either them or a no play tonight...refs have been good to them

                    excellent info.

on a neutral floor, WVA is attractive @ -2 / -2.5 over UCONN.

since UCONN is not playing on their 'real' home court, I am inclined to lay a small wager on WVA even though my first look at todays card was a total pass on all games.

I need to mull this over for a few hours.

                    thanks again for the info.

Yes, don't know the numbers, but Pitt has owned them in Hartford

I just saw tv that WV is 0-7 at UConn. I'm assuming that's at Storrs and not the XL Center.

Hey iceminers, looking at your Whalers logo, figured I'd chime in on XL Center
I went there once to see the Whalers play years ago.. put it this way it's so long ago that Brendan Shanahan was a young player.
That place has STEEP steps, lemme tell ya.. walking down those steps with a buzz on was tough, had to be careful.. other than that, can't remember much other than it's connected to the mall..
just wanted to share this useless info with someone. lol.

well that would be going back like 14 years or somthing. remember Uconn has been a power for quite some time in the Big East, and WVU just recently become even an above average basketball team in the big east.

so i'm not sure how much stock i'd put into the 0-7 against Uconn. because since they joined the big east wvu is prob like 5-20 all time vs Uconn period or somthing silly like that.

but that doesn't have much to do with tonight's game.

If they move their biggest games to the XL Center that demand higher ticket sales (Syracuse, Nova, WVU, etc.) wouldn't they obviously have a worse record there than the games at Gampel vs South Florida, Seton Hall, Rutgers, etc.?

                                Just throwing that out there.

Kinda like the favre facts I always loved! He can't win in a dome & can't win in temp over 40 degrees!!!!

Last time I checked playing at home is easier. Playing on the road is tougher. About every game he played on the road was in a dome & warmer than green bay. So why can't they just say he plays better at home, like 90% of QB's and every other player in every sport do!

                                    Good point, archie.

I would also be wary of them tonight.

Game looks like a no pick to me.
