How I capped Duke/Virginia Tech

Against Wake Forest, Va Tech was a 5.5 point fave and Duke was a 16 point fave

At NC State, Va Tech was a 1 point fave and Duke was an 11.5 point fave

At Miami, Va Tech was a 2 point dog and Duke was a 7 point fave

At North Carolina, Va Tech was an 8 point dog and Duke was a 5.5 point fave



Also, Duke is better ATS than Va Tech so I would give Duke another point or so. The average of line discrepency is around 10.5. Duke is 12 points better than VA Tech on a neutral court. Add in the advantage of Cameron Indoor Stadium, which should be 4-5 points minimum and you get Duke -16 or 17.

This may seem excessive because even Wake and FSU weren't getting this many points but they were both beaten over 14 points. Don't forget the 19+ point beatdowns of Maryland and Georgia Tech. I dont think Tech will be able to keep up with the Dukies!

I don't think this works. I agree that Duke is a good pick, but obviously there are way too many factors/adjustments left out. I.E. the way the teams match up, free throw shooting, etc. I see what you're talking about, I just don't like this system.

I think its a great way to compare teams because in the end, Vegas knows. Matchups can be important but I tend to think they're a little overrated. Sounds weird but good teams play good basketball.

if you bet against duke at home just dont watch the games because besides the regular home court advantage the refs give duke another 6 points............if you watch it you will want to seriously hurt the refs, and maybe even more so coach k for complaining one call when 5 just went his way...........then he sits there bitterly with his tiny mouth and is pissed off cause his 20 point lead isnt 30 when it really should only be like 10

gotta be thankful you got a push. Tech was leading midway through the 2nd half and if it wasn't for the 2 junk time 3's in the final minute from Purdue, you woulda lost.
