100 picks, goal of 60% or better

Hi everyone! Thanks SBR for this great site. This is my first time starting a thread.

I'm been on a 17-5 run, and it may be sheer luck (it probably is), but I thought I'd start a thread and start tracking my plays.

I will post a maximum of five NCAA plays a day. My goal is to reach 60% after 100 picks, at which point I may or may not keep going with the thread (depending on results, time, etc). I advise you all to tail with extreme caution, at least for now. I have been on a good run for my last 22 picks, but overall I'm just at 51.5% over 130 picks. However, I have made some recent changes to my system for making picks, and so far the results have been excellent. It's just too soon to know if I've been getting lucky or if I'm really on to something.

Please don't ask me for my system as I'm not going to share that, but I will share my picks. Sometimes I may include over/unders, but I think most of them will be sides. Hopefully my results will be either really great or really terrible, so that you guys can tail or fade your way to riches

Here are my three picks for today. I will post them at the lines I got them at:

Old Dominion +3
Harvard +3
Columbia -2

If you can't get them at those lines or better, my advice will always be not to tail. I don't want to be responsible for you getting screwed by one or two baskets, and buying points is almost always bad in the long run. The only time I would recommend buying a half-point is to get the number to +/- 2 or +/-4.

Again, a strong warning that you may not want to tail until I have a proven record here. Not telling you not to, but do so at your own risk!

Finally, if my picks do well (i.e., if I reach my goal of 60% or better for the day) and I happen to make you some $$, I would appreciate points. I'm putting a lot of time into my system, and I have very little money so my betting units are still small.

I also have a lean on Brown +6. I'm not going to include it in the official record since it is just a lean.

I don't plan on using any kind of star system, and certainly no "Game of the Month" type nonsense, but for today my favorite play of the three listed is Old Dominion +3

Lol, well it figures that the day I open the forum would be the worst day I've had in a while . 0-3, ouch. Embarrassing. Glad nobody tailed. At least the lean hit, but that doesn't count.

I guess I'll go ahead and stop while I'm behind... Maybe I'll come back to this thread if results start to look promising over a longer stretch. Good luck all.

Thanks Bones. I had been doing very well over the last 25 plays or so, which is why I thought I'd start tracking the plays here for others. I suspected I was just lucky, and that seems to be true -- although you're right that one bad day doesn't mean anything in the long run.

Maybe I'll keep going a bit just for fun. After this great first day I definitely don't suggest anyone tail. Fade if you like!

Ugh! Argh! Ouch!! Look at the five crossed out picks above.... they went 5-0. Why did I have to change my mind??!

Meanwhile, the picks that I ended up making are 1-1, with New Mexico still unplayed. Anyway, I know the formula I used for the original previous five picks, so maybe I'll go back to that one for tomorrow. I'm still tinkering around with various systems.
