Marquette Golden Eagles, -3.5 1st half (2U) LOSER

Pitt avgs 29.5 and give up 31 on the road, and their last 3 have been even worse, losing by an average of 5 in the 1st. Meanwhile, Marquette has been stellar in the first half at home, posting avgs of 38.3 for and 26.6 against. Marquette is a very competitive team (their 5 league losses coming by a combined 11pts), and will not take Pitt lightly. I look for them to come out firing and cover the 3.5 w/ room to spare.

Citadel Bulldogs, PK (2U) WINNER

In this matchup, the Citadel comes in riding a 4-game win streak, including a big road victory @ conference leader Charleston, while W. Carolina limps in to this game 4-5 over the last 9, with 3 of those wins coming over the league's bottom feeders. I expect this to be a competitive game, as the Citadel's 6 league losses have been by a combined 17pts. Although not an offensive juggernaut, the Citadel has homecourt, a decided defensive advantage, as well as much better FT shooting (70.3% @ home to WCU's 59.5% on the road), which I think will ultimately decide this hotly contested affair.

Ole Miss, -1.5 1st half (2U) LOSER

Just looking strictly at the Home/Away defensive #'s here. Vandy loses by an average of 4pts on the rd in the 1st half, giving up 37.4, and Mississippi wins 1st halves @ home by about 9pts, giving up 30.2 (7.2pt advantage). If Ole Miss can't come out ready to win a game they need, then they don't deserve a post-season opportunity. Ole Miss 1st half -1.5.

So do I, 2da. 6/6.5pts a bit too much for me to give a Pitt squad that showed alot of toughness their last game out vs. WVU. I just hope Marquette can come out on fire.

i really dont know wtf to think of that line.....i find it hard to believe this game isnt a battle that is close down the stretch, feels like im being baited though so im gonna pass.....really isnt a whole lot im high on tonight, tough card

Well folks, that was the best I could find yesterday, just have to battle. Anyway, Marquette was obviously outmanned on the inside, and Ole Miss, well, enjoy a short NIT run, boys. Special thanks to the Citadel for staving off the sweep.

Friday night college hoops usually doesn't have much to offer, so, unless I find something that looks spectacular, I'll be studying up for tomorrow.

Harvard Crimson, ML +135 (2U) LOSER

Yes, I know Cornell crushed Harvard last time the two collided, 86-50. Yes, I know Cornell played Kansas tough on the road, in a game that would have made Cornell's season, had they won, but they didn't - in spite of KU's horrific 11 of 34 on two pt shots.

In what was seemingly the perfect storm for Cornell, Harvard, a team that boasts a 1.14 assist/to ratio @ home, turned the ball over 27 times, while amassing only 7 assists. Cornell, conversely, compiled 22 assists to a meager 8 turnovers.

Harvard seems to have every statistical advantage in this game, giving up only 57 @ home to Cornell's 67 on the road (admittedly, Cornell has played better competition on the road than Harvard has @ home), a 79% to 75 FT advantage (minor edge, but an edge), 38% FG defense to Cornell's 44, as well as a whopping 11% edge on 3pt FG defense (30.1/41.3). Pride has to be a factor as well, and Harvard should be motivated to avenge the early conference defeat at the hands of the Big Red.

Samford Bulldogs, -5; 1st half (2u) LOSER, and -9.5 game (2u) LOSER

According to Ken Pomeroy ratings system, Ga. Southern is the 4th most consistent team in the nation. Unfortunately for them, they are consistently bad, losing by an average of 18.5 points on the road this season. Also, according to Pomeroy's rankings, they've been one of the luckiest teams in the country, falling in at 22nd, so it could be alot worse for the lowly Eagles. Not that I need to go on, but I will. Ga. Southern loses 1st halves on the road to the tune of -7.5 pts, scoring 29.5 and allowing 37. The Bulldogs lose 1st halves by .3 pts, scoring 27.2 while the D surrenders 27.5. I expect Samford to cover the 5 1st half, and if they don't, I'll double-up 2nd half, where Ga. Southern is even worse, losing those 2nd halves 32.5 to 43.5. Samford gives up 30 in the second half for a strong 13.5 pt advantage.

MoneyLine is -500 to -550 indicating this line should be @ -11/-11.5
