if u had said at this point last year that north carolina was going to win it all, i wouldve been ok with that because i predicted too that they would win it all last year a month before the NCAA tourney began. but they were CLEARLY the best team in the land last year by a landslide because of their experience. But u cannot say the same for kentucky. despite their outrageous talent n a superstar in wall, they still are young and yes, if they run into a really tough, defensive team they could be introuble. i do love their talent though and they would be one hell of a team if they didnt get broken up aftr this yr but obviously theres 0% chance of that. unfortunately a lack of experience never equates to a good outing in the NCAA tourney. i expect them to reach at least the elite 8 though they are exciting to watch.
If you don't think Kentucky will win the NCAA Tournament, get your head examined

#72when I travel, so many casual basketball fans ask me "why didn't UNC go hard after John Wall, he was right there 30 mins away" . . .
"He just seems more like a Calipari player" I usually respond.
There's a difference between a program with 'never a hint of anything improper' and a coach that has had two Final Fours vacated.
With that said, if I had a nickel for every time the 'best team in the country according to it's fans' didn't win the tournament, I've have a villa in Bali.
In the history of the NCAA Tournament:
- 10 teams that entered the tournament undefeated didn't win.
- Only six teams, since the beginning of the seeding process in 1979, have entered the tournament ranked #1 in at least 1 poll and gone on to win the tournamentComment -

#73You can still be a tard and be "basketball" smart they just have a lot of inexperience, not many players on the team have ever played in an NCAA tourney game. But they have tons of talent. Certainly they can win but definatly not by any means a lock. Wall failed a year in High school and barely got minimum SAT scores to a 3.8 at Kentucky ????? hmmmmComment -

The difference is that some schools actually try and pay attention to the rules and honor them once in a while.
Some schools will sell their soul for one more shot at some small piece of glory even if they have to give it back five years from now.Comment -

#75You cant break down 1 game and determine how a team is going to do in NCAA. Villanova returns 4 starters and adds a top 5 recruiting class off a final four team from last year. Kentucky most talent in the Nation if they can overcome their inexperience in the tourney. Oh I like Coach Cal but no way best coach. There is a guy over at Duke that claims that title.
so nova aint as bad as ppl think, the big east is much weaker this yrComment -

They won the ACC Tourney and their NCAA tourney games by an average of 12.3 points. Clearly dominating.
. . . until they ran into a lower ranked, but more experienced Georgetown team. They were even up 11 in the second half and then the shots just stopped falling, and their "youth" left them lost. It went to OT and Georgetown pulled away.
That team had five current NBA players (4 picked in the 1st round) on it's roster.Comment -

#781. Best point guard in the country.
2. Best big man in the country.
3. Two of the best 5 players overall in the country.
4. Best coach in the country.
5. Best travelling fanbase in the country (turning neutral games to semi-home games).
Pretty easy to see who will win it all.
No shot kid, did you see those classless thugs in mississippi, calipari had to throw them off the court. Cousins DOESNT get it, hes doing the "call me" after dunks and shit, wall is talking all sorts of shit. Bad recipe for a team that cant hit free throws and has lost to South Carolina and almost lost to Miss St.....SEC teams!! If they run into a well coached, disciplined team like duke or gonzaga or michigan st. they are ****ed. Imagine what happens if they run into kansas or syracuse or nova....no shot
yup"This is why my basketball intelligence is unmatched on this site. I'm sure there are better cappers but no one can tell you the strategies of most coaches before the game even starts "

#80Onner, your a nuts... Are you old enough to have watched or heard of a team called the "fab 5" from Michican... Sure your not!!! Anyways, that team started 5 true freshman comprised of 3 future NBA players and would run this Kentucky team you love out of there own building if they played today. Anyways, the fab 5 was not good enough to win it all. I believe they went to the finals 2 straight years they were all together and lost both times and that team was unreal.
Kentucky will have a bad nite by a veteran team on a neutral site in the tourney and go home. They are not a championship team. Maybe sweet 16 or Elite 8, but that's it.
If that group stayed together than yes maybe, but for a bunch of punks to win it all coached by cheatipari... You crazy bro..
Memphis, cheatapri's team had Kansas so beat in the championship and they choked. All Memphis had to do was kill time and hit a few free throws and they win.
Not happening bro, but congrats on your SEC championshipComment -

I go to most of their games only player they lost of note was Dante Cunningham. Shane Clark started a few games but mostly a bench player averaged 5 points a game. Dwayne Anderson another reserve averaged about 6 a game. Returned the rest of the team including the 2 Coreys and Pena who all played. Add #3 ranked recruiting class. Big East weak????Comment -

But would u be surprised if any of these teams made the final four? Michigan St. Purdue Duke Gonzaga West Virginia?
So many sleeper teams too like Butler, Kansas St., pitt, vandy"This is why my basketball intelligence is unmatched on this site. I'm sure there are better cappers but no one can tell you the strategies of most coaches before the game even starts "

The young lad probably wasn't alive when Laettner stole Kentucky's heart.
Or when Eddie Sutton was throwing cash at players.
And he certainly hasn't seen John Calipari fall apart year/year when the pressure is on.
Hell, the kid probably doesn't even remember what Calipari did with a 5 point lead and a minute remaining against Kansas in the national championship game a few years ago.Comment -

#88yup.
Calipari is NOT the best coach ever. Hes a "good" recruiter if you dont go by the rules. Hes scumbag who has left 2 programs holding their cocks. And I actually like the guy. Hes good at dealing with guys like cousins.
I can see Kentucky losing in the sweet 16."This is why my basketball intelligence is unmatched on this site. I'm sure there are better cappers but no one can tell you the strategies of most coaches before the game even starts "

Right on point, but I think Kansas and Kentucky have a better chance. I already made a early bet months ago for those 3 teams because the odds at those times were better. John Wall will be the #1 draft pick if he's leaving after 1 year, if he does stay which he wont he will still be #1 for his 2nd, 3rd and 4th year.Comment -

#102the reason kentucky won't win it all is the same reason you pick senior-laden teams when filling out your bracket. kentucky is very talented - but you've seen them exposed when they get out of rupp arena. every game in the tourney is out of rupp arena = no championship. this is why i think kansas and syracuse are the marquee favorites.Comment -
