thanks DKnight, I read his blog. My pick stands though. And I do like Harvard, I think they win by 9ish+.
I can honestly say I could basically care less about the following trends:
"Trends
Yale are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 Friday games
Harvard is 1-7 ATS in the last 8 H2H meetings"
If Harvard couldn't beat Yale 5 years ago on a Friday night, this plays no role on the coming game. Not one of the players on either team is the same as 5 years ago!! Sometimes I'll take trends like this into consideration, but mostly I find them to be trivial. If they ACTUALLY DO play better on Fridays this season, guess who else knows that? The bookies! And if the bookies know it then they'll take that into account when making the lines.
What I do care about is this team, how they are playing this season.
I do like your blog though, IceMiner, I book marked it for future reference and I wish you the best of luck, just on every game BUT this one!

That's what matters. All those trends mean shit. CBB teams keep changing every year.

I hope you're right on Harvard. Honestly I hate playing favorites, I'm more of an underdog kind of a guy unless I see a fave I absolutely love, this isn't one of those games. Layin the chalk anyway

I should add too, that trends are the last thing I look at, that's why they are usually the first thing I list in my blogs because they are fresh in my head. A trend will never constitute a play for me but on occasions will get me to back out of a play I may perhaps earlier liked. About the whole, what happened 5 years ago thing, I agree to a certain point but look more into how a team has matched up against another H2H and if there is a great margin in that span. Being a former D1 athlete, I knew there were guys on my team that were beat before we even stepped onto the ice against 1 club in particular because of their dominance over my club the 4 years I was in college.
In this game in particular, I can not look over look the way Yale steps up and answers the call of playing Harvard, throw in 5 points, and home court, I'll take it. Look at it this way, at least one of us will be happy with the outcome.
Good Luck with your Friday plays

I see what you mean, Ice, that's definitely a good point.
And also, I don't fault you for putting in stats like that into a blog (I've done it, too) as some people do bet based off of long term trends and they might want to know about them. I just always list them last cuz they play no real role in my capping.
