Georgetown fell apart after their quick start. Syracuse played well. The Big East is very unpredictable this year.
Not many people predicted this to be a blow out.

I did not bet the game and I usually don't because I am fan first and can't spoil a win if they don't cover. But SU had not been closing out games very well the last few weeks and should have covered against Marquette. That was going thru my head when I saw the line at -5.5 or -6. The way SU came out I thought this was going to be a game decided by 3 or less points.
I have followed this team for 25 plus years and the defense is about as good as I can remember. Funny with Flynn jumping to the NBA and losing Devo and Harris there really was not much expected out of the Orange this year. I started to become a little excited when they stomped Cal and UNC in the Garden back in Nov. But now winning on the road at WVU, ND, SH and blowning out GTown it's hard to imagine this team not going deep in the tournament. So many surprises this year. Great play from the freshman point guard B. Triche along with Scoop. The emergence of 2nd year player Joseph who I wanted to transfer after last year. He might be the best 6th man in the Big East. Transfer and player of year candidate Wes Johnson. And my personal favorite Andy Rautins who had to listen to critics say he only made the team because of his daddy. I like to see a kid work hard and stick around for the full 4 and become a really good ball player. Traditionally know as just a "3 point shooter" Andy has shown great defense, passing and toughness which I believe the entire team feeds off of. SU has very balanced scoring and can have any number of guys lead them in scoring on a given night. Their 2-3 zone gives teams fits especially when they are from another conference and do not regularly see it like a Big East foe would. Plus even if you practice against it there is no way to simulate the length and activity SU process's. This is shaping up to be a special season. One that SU fans should try to take all in and enjoy the ride.
Villanova visits the Dome Feb 27....expecting over 30,000. Look for me I'll be the guy in Orange!
