I saw JA say he's leaving one alone cause it dropped like its hot!!! These are opening #'s he's giving, every one will drop, some signifigantly, don't let it scare you. The more they drop I've found the better! Just try to get on them quick as possible. If anyone wants to get serious about totals you have to have a bookmaker acct

respect your handicapping plays however this statement makes no sense at all. you can not be on the right side if the pick lost. period.

It doesnt matter how the game unfolds. injuries, turnovers, missed free throws, ejections, bad officiating and whatever else can happen during the course of a game is part of the wagering game we play. sometimes you guess right, sometimes you dont. no excuses necessary here.

Not true. It's not a matter of excuses, it's a matter of probabilities. When capping a play, there are more probabilities than just "0" or "1". With totals, if an under pick would have easily hit but loses due to overtime, the handicapper made the right pick. If a dog pick would have easily hit but loses due to overtime, again, the handicapper was on the right side of the pick.

If it's a ML pick, it's even more clear. If you bet on a dog, it could be rational to make a pick *that you would expect to lose* more than half the time, or even the vast majority of the time, if the chances of the dog winning are greater than the Vegas odds. If you bet a favorite, it could be irrational to make the bet even if the bet would hit well over half the time if the odds don't justify it. So one could be missing pick after pick and still be on the right side of them, or hitting pick after pick and still be on the wrong side of them (e.g., winning repeatedly on overvalued lines for Roger Federer).

yep, probablilities factor in the play to handicap (choose) a side but the bottom line on any wager regardless of methods use to handicap (choose) your side is you either win / lose or draw. it doesn't matter if it went to overtime or not. you were either on the right said when the final horn sounds or you weren't and making excuses for a losing play is not necessary and frankly unacceptable. especially saying I had the right side but some unforeseen act caused me to lose. thats a crock of bs and no one wants to hear it.

"no excuses are necessary because none are acceptable." <<< a good phrase with true meaning instilled in me at a very young age by my grandfather and its as true as the sky looks blue. gamblers make excuses, maybe so they feel better in their own mind, who knows but investors don't think twice about it. They mark it down on the balance sheet as a loss and move on to the next investment.

there are some true investors on this site but many many more gamblers. investors make up about 2% of a books clientele and gamblers make up the other 98%. that's why the books can afford to pay the investors and still make money.....the books love the gamblers who had the right side but lost the wager.....
